“Zach Wilson will not be released and will be back with the Jets if not traded”- Woody Johnson

Recommended Posts

Good job by Woody Johnson and the Jets again. They have Aaron Rodgers at QB, have put together a very solid offseason, and have legitimate playoff-run aspirations, but for the second year in a row, the lead story hanging over this franchise is backup QB Zach Wilson. For the love of God, Woody, hire an adult who knows how to run an NFL franchise and get the **** out of the way

You think that the "lead story" of this franchise is what's going to happen with Zach Wilson?

It was the owners meeting. Reporters had access to a bunch of owners. They asked questions. He answered in a semi competent way.  The internet did its thing and completely overreacted to the TMZ angle.

They protected him the last month of the season under the guise of a concussion. I’m surprised people are surprised he’s coming back. The rules for Wilson are different. He was watching preseason games from a suite.

If only there was a way to foresee this happening and tailor your responses about the #3 quarterback on your team so as to minimize the story instead of letting it become the lede of your offseason coverage.

That's just some current news that they're reporting on.  It has nothing to do with the larger narrative of the team right now.  And the "stunning revelation" headline is obviously clickbait.

We have AR8 and TT.  ZW will be gone this offseason but, if by some miracle he's still here, he'll be our QB3 at best.

The media spoke to the coach and GM for the first time since the end of the season. They spoke to the owner for the first time since the Super Bowl. The headline coming out of each of those availabilities? Zach Wilson. The team needs to shut up about Zach Wilson and move on with it. With everything the team has going for it, this is what they allow to dominate the coverage. Clown show from a messaging standpoint.

It wouldn’t completely shock me if they didn’t release him, but this could just be Woody thinking he’s trying to outsmart everyone to get a team to make a move for Zach. Woody is dumb enough to think this tactic would work. There is no reason for Zach to be on this team but again it wouldn’t shock me if Woodys actually being serious and not trying to use this as a ploy.

We all know what's going to happen. Jets will.keep Wilson as qb3. Rodgers and Taylor will get hurt and somehow Wilson will be starting games again

It'll be fun to track this over the next six months or so. He'll be gone, but even if he's not, he'll be QB3. And even if Rodgers gets hurt, he'll never play because we have Tyrod. And even if Tyrod gets hurt, he'll just fill in on an emergency basis. And even if he ends up starting, it'll only be for a few games. And even if he gets a contract extension, it'll only be for one year. And even if it's for more than one year, it'll be for the league minimum.

Some of you guys make me laugh! It’s as if you just woke up and realized how asinine of an owner Woody is. He’s been making matters worse from day one. Just deal with it already,he ain’t going nowhere. Unfortunately.

As for cutting Zack, understand that there’s no financial advantage in doing so. No team in their right mind is even willing to give up a six rounder for this guy’s salary while having him “observe”.
we can criticize JD for a lot of things, but he’s had some big wins, trade-wise. Even he knew this was a lost cause so much so that he left Zack’s team deal with trade offers.

So I know a lot of you guys hate him, but he just might be back! Lol

We’ve gone from there’s no chance this is happening and you’re an idiot to ok it’s probably happening. Plenty more to come!

and it will be an important game we must have to make the playoffs and he will lose it and everyone will lose there minds that he was still on the team. and rightfully so.

that is the story today, after woody spoke

it is not the lead story all off-season.  there have been plenty of stories on rodgers, on the free agent signings, on the draft, etc...

it is only those pre-disposed to being triggered at the slightest mention of zach that consider this the lead story of the off-season.
