Very early, very non-concrete nugget: the Jets have had talks about moving to Queens.

Wealthy New York Jets owner Woody Johnson was nearly paralyzed for life after drunkenly falling off a bridge while urinating during his wild college days, a new book claims.

Eh, this just humanizes him IMO.

Me and my friends certainly had our fair share (and then some) of drunken (or worse) adventures in our youths. \\:D/

On topic:  That Vagina Stadium design is just horrible.  But in fairness, I'm not a fan of several of the more recent NFL stadiums designs either, so yeah.

Going from 25,000 soccer specific stadium to an 80,000 stadium that can host NFL games is not a small easy fix. The plot of land would have to nearly double and would eat into the housing, the school, the hotel. All of which was required to get NYC council to approve in the first place.

Grounds being broke for the soccer stadium in the fall once the site is done being cleared.

Queens is not the answer and nether is NJ.  Been saying for years, that there should be a new landfill project on Manhattan island.  When you run out of land and you are on an ocean, you make more land.  Just ask the guys over in the UAE.  That would be the ideal spot for both NJ fans and fans in the burrows.  Build an entire complex there.  That would be the ideal.

Bojangles
heard if them - are they mainly in the Carolina’s and south?

Bojangles absolutely has THE best sausage egg and cheese biscuits ever made. If you have the chance and are found of heart attack food you must try one. They make them all day long and I always have one whenever I am south. A must eat. Lots of Bojangles in eastern Virginia and south from there, don’t know about central or western part of the state.

Did anyone else notice the lone Carrier Pigeon under the vents, the rat and what looks like a mass suicide of pigeons by the white pipes?

Don't worry, we're still in the construction phase... You can fully expect to see dead feral cats and stray dogs in the future.

Ummm, Manhattan is not in the ocean. It is between two heavily trafficked rivers.  The only comparable would be Battery Park City. That landfill cost $200Million 55 years ago. Where exactly are you putting this huge landfill??

MetLife Stadium is a disgrace. Hopefully they rip it down in a few years and try again. Moving to Queens would be impractical and totally suck. Only thing worse would be moving to central Connecticut.

Very ugly stadium.  Giants stadium was a crappy generic 80’s era dump but it wasn’t hideous looking.  Getalife literally looks like one of the atmosphere processors from the movie Aliens

One of the most annoying things about that is how easy and (relative to the entire project) cheap it is to make it look less ugly.  The exterior air conditioner design was just lazy.  Even worse is what the concourses look like.  They’re drab, dark and unfinished looking, with exposed pipes and other sh*t everywhere.   Even the Dolphins’ stadium, which is otherwise a cement craphole in the spirit of Giants Stadium, has concourses that are bright, airy, colorful and fun.  Exact opposite of MetLife.

Many options.  The most logical would be lower east side to Gov Island.

Have you ever been to Dubai?  They do this stuff all the time and it’s a huge city.

Our biggest issue by far would be bureaucratic red tape nonsense.  Have to get both the state governments of NY and NJ to agree, Port Authority, plus the federal government, DHS, Coast Guard etc.

Dubai is awash in Oil money. New York is broke and it is only getting worse as they piss away money on midtown hotel rooms for illegals.

I wish what you were saying was even remotely true.  NYC has a $1.2 trillion GDP and is the most expensive city in the entire western hemisphere by far

Now tell us more tall tales about the decline of western civilization

NYC is sinking into the ocean ... For real.

New York City, which sits on land that was raised just outside the edge of the ice sheet, is now sinking back down. The scientists found that on average the metropolitan area subsided by about 0.06 inches (1.6 millimeters) per year – about the same amount that a toenail grows in a month.

Let me guess .. you live in Queens or Long Island? The latter of which is the most inconvenient place on earth for the rest of the planet to get to and drive on.

Driving from NJ to Queens or Long Island isn't too bad, but driving home always seems to be a nightmare!

Ex NYer here living near the Jersey Shore now. I hated when Jets moved from Shea and despised the move to Giants Stadium. But partnering with the Mara’s and Tisch’s in the complete abortion known as Metlife is incomprehensible to me. I would be willing to drive to Riverhead NY 10 times a year to see the Jets in their own stadium.
No matter where it is built, the Jets need their own home not shared.

selfishly i prefer they stay in nj.

i get the whole lets have our own stadium and a part of me would want that but it is simply not high on my personal list.

the reality though is Woody is a billionaire and they typically do not spend their own money - hence remaining and growing your billionaire status. There are exceptions but for the most part that is the case.

Since Woody bought the Jets you can prob count the winning seasons on one hand yet the value of the franchise has at least tripled.

So unless he finds a way to get the state to pay the whole boat - why in the world would he leave? He is beyond printing money at this point.
