You can love the move and I'll say good for you - but me not liking that move and also thinking Old Man Rodgers is shot are two entirely different things.

I think Rodgers might very well have one of his best seasons IF he can stay healthy.  Anyone over 40 playing football, that is a BIG if.

I would have given him a 3 year $51mm contract with a maximum annual value of $20mm.

I can't say what % of plays but more than the Jets have played him.  He needed to be on the field more.

so 3/51 but with 3mm of incentives each year?

i doubt he would take that - you have to pay him more to stay given he wants to be an every down player.

3/55, my guess is he would have stayed as long as he got assurances that he would get more playing time.

how many sacks do you expect from him this year?

But, you acting like Huff is somewhat better than Reddick is literally @Raideraholiclevel delusional.

As I've said.  We'll see.  But I believe Huff will have a better year than Reddick.  I don't hate the Reddick move.  I'm okay with it and think he'll have a solid season - but it still made zero sense to me to let Huff walk if you were going to trade a 3rd round pick and pay $14mm to a 30 year old speed rusher.  Reddick has had a solid career.   Huff was incredibly and inexplicably under used as a Jet.

I liked the move until he held out and now I hate it.

I actually couldn't care less that's he's holding out.  He's going to play, he'll come around.  It's not like we don't see this type of thing all the time.  He'll play and he'll be fine.

But you acting like we had a choice between Huff and Reddick is just wrong. Huff was gone the minute we drafted McDonald,

Huff was out of the question but trading a 3rd round pick for Reddick?  I don't get it the logic.

$51.1 million

Bryce Huff's breakout 2023 campaign has earned him a tremendous pay day in a new city. The Philadelphia Eagles are signing the former Jets pass-rushing specialist to a three-year, $51.1 million deal, with a maximum annual value of $20.033 million, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported.Mar 11, 2024

Could be that, or perhaps he is just a lucky baffoon who somehow lucked his way into one of only 32 jobs of its kind on the planet.

Or he's real smart because he got Chris to hire him and Woody to not fire him, which are literally things Canada Steve could do with the right introduction and a guaranteed contract.

You bet!  It's okay to brush over the best overall talent this team has had in about 15 years.  Other than that, you are right, he sucks.  That's what happens when you miss out on the QB position, and you get one crack at drafting the right one.  Doesn't matter if that chance comes in one of the worst QB drafts in recent memory, you are OUTTA HERE if you drop the ball at that one position!

Yes, most definitely one of the obvious errors by an inexperienced unproven gm. Especially how hard Rodgers rehabbed in effort to come back end of yr. He was ready, but jets could only find rock bottom qb play to bridge the gap until Aaron’s return. Vikings acquired a qb to compete for a very late round draft pick. He was miles ahead better play than Zach and the 4th stringers JD signed.

The moment Rodgers looked like he had a season ending injury JD should have been on the phone with Carson Wentz’s agent

Reddick will do tremendously well in a contract year and within the Jets rotational system.  Opponents will not be able to cover everyone and Reddick will end up generating good numbers (sacks, pressures, TFLs) from a relatively smaller number of plays.  This should translate directly into having less wear and tear on his body and someone being willing to pay him even more for proportionally more sacks if only he were not being rotated.

If I were Hassan I would be paying the Jets to be in here in this system right now.

Florham Park – The Jets have a lot of key contracts coming in the next couple of off-seasons.

So the agent community is certainly keeping an eye on how Jets GM Joe Douglas handles the Haason Reddick contract dispute.

If Douglas caves to the defensive end’s demands, it could have ramifications with other players, and their agents down the road.

If you show weakness and give in to a player who is currently under contract, but is trying to force you into a new contract through public pressure, other player agents will follow suit.

So Douglas needs to show strength in this situation like he did with the Jamal Adams situation in 2020. Douglas never caved to the safeties contract demands and ended up trading him to Seattle for a package that included two first-round picks.

Not saying the Jets should trade Reddick, but Douglas needs to show the kind of strength he showed in dealing with Adams with Reddick and his agent.

Or it could have ramifications in other big negotiations that are coming up soon.

The agent community is watching.

Reddick showing up will piss off the majority of jet fans.

With everything else going great, what will be left to be miserable about?

If more of us would stick our tongues in the toaster, we’d have a much more positive attitude.

Sure you would.

It is a turn of phrase and you know what I am saying here.

Advertising has to actually be seen to be effective and this situation offers him a premium opportunity to sing for his next contract supper.

Yeah.....I'd LOVE to hear about all these great rosters we've had since our last playoff appearance.

JD has hit on two offensive players in the draft.  Other than that most of his hits have been defensive players.  He’s basically Rex as a talent evaluator except Rex was probably better

Did that twice. Not as bad as people make it out to be.

Is the same gut based belief system that had you believing Zach Wilson was going to be a good NFL QB?  Because there is absolutely nothing on earth that would indicate Huff is going to be better than Reddick at anything, they are not even remotely comparable.
