This deserves its own thread, thats why I didn't add it to the others as usual. This makes me happy. I was worried he didn't want to come here.

Even though the team in on it's way out im pretty sure most million dollar athletes would like to play in the NY market. The real question is if he can handle the NY media which will do anything to ruin him.

We are 1-6. Not too many people running to play for that. Either way, I'm happy if its true that he is excited to be here.

The guy has four years, $40M left on his contract, and just discovered he's worth a conditional 6th round pick on the trade market. That doesn't translate well to the potential free agent market (see: Holmes, Santonio). His best hope for seeing that money -or anything close to it- is probably getting from the Jets. At a bare minimum, he needs to be an impeccably good soldier if he's gonna get a payday should the Jets decide to cut him.

What else could he possibly say without looking supremely awful?

It wasn't a direct quote from him. Which in this case, is a rare time that it could mean more if true. Plus "pumped" is a pretty strong adjective to use. If just p.c. garbage could have said 'happy'. lol.

6th round? I thought it was a 4th round pick that could be come a 2nd round pick?

Nope. Just came out, a 6th that can at best become a 4th. We stole Percy.

Wow, ok that makes the trade a lot better. a 4th rounder at best...if he is not too injured the rest of the way then its a complete steal. Basically a 6th round pick as a flyer who can become a 4th...lol.

as much as I hate Michael vick, his presence could be immensely useful to us with the harvin acquisition.

vick may have don't things that are unforgiveable, but by most accounts he has tried his hardest to turn himself around. although its not the same issues that harvin deals with its the same idea. harvin is a guy who needs to turn himself around if he wants to have a successful career. the talent is there, its his behavior that's is holding him back. I never thought vick could be a great teacher to geno smith since I never really thought much of vick as a qb. I do, however, feel that vick can possibly help harvin figure out how to turn his behavior around. harvin doesn't need anyone to show him how to be a playmaker just how to behave. vick has taken himself from one side of the behavior spectrum to the other so he is capable of helping harvin navigate that road.

LMAO!

"When asked about how he feels now that the trade is official Harvin responded by simply closing his garage door and starting his car. He sat peacefully in the front seat with eyes closed".

Where are the negative boys - let's here about this GM wjo is an IZDICK and IZDIOT.

"Obviously, a guy with his production and at 26 years old, he would not have been available if these indiscretions didn't happen"-Mike Tannenbaum

"These guys have opened their arms to me right now and all I have to do is walk into them."-Santonio Holmes (prior to getting payed)

Poor guy....where receivers go to die

Career suicide playing for Wrex.

Bill Parcells

Al Groh

Herman Edwards

Eric Mangini

Rex Ryan

We haven't had an offensive mind as a head coach since 1996. Over and over again we try to win it on D in a league that wants you to win it on O.

The next HC of the NYJ better be an offensive coordinator. It's one thing to lose; it's another thing to lose boring.

What do you expect him to say?

He's going from a Super Bowl winning team with a great QB to a 1-6 team with the worst starting QB in the NFL.

What is there to be excited about?

It's only a steal if you keep him next year.  If he's just a 9 game rental this is a terrible deal as it cost of $7mm in cap space in a lost cause of a season.  I would much rather the $7mm next year.  But....if you can get him to renovate his contract in the $5-6mm range for the next three years then this is a great deal.

The Jets will go into next offseason with $50 million in cap space.

No matter how you toss and turn it it's $7mm less they can spend next year for a 9 game rental on a 1-6 team.  this was strictly a PR move and nothing more - and it seems to be working with most fans...so good move Woody, I guess.
