"We do things a little bit differently than the team we're playing this weekend."

Robert Kraft talks about differences between Pats and team he doesn’t name

Posted by Mike Florio on January 14, 2011, 10:11 AM EST

Owner Robert Kraft owns one of the two teams that will meet in a division-round rubber match on Sunday. And in comparing his team to the team he’ll be facing during a Thursday interview with the Associated Press, Kraft took great pains to avoid mentioning the other team by name.

“I don’t want to speak to how other people do things or be judgmental about what motivates other people,” Kraft said. “But stylistically, I think we do things a little bit different than the folks we’re playing this weekend.”

It’s the nicest possible way of saying that he doesn’t like how the team-that-wasn’t-named does things.

“I’m proud of the way [our] team is conducting itself right now,” Kraft said. “We’re trying to let our actions speak when we play.”

Kraft presumably made that observation before receiver Wes Welker stood behind a podium on Thursday and poked fun, repeatedly, at the whole Rex Ryan foot fetish thing.

“We want to win very badly this weekend,” Kraft said. “The style of people from New England is to try to let our actions speak on Sunday at 4:30 and not have a lot of blather and say things that, in some ways, take away from the game.”

The fact that the WWE-style chatter makes things spicier isn’t enough to persuade Kraft that it’s the right thing to do, especially when profanity is involved.

“[I]n the end there’s a lot of little kids watching,” Kraft said. “There’s a lot of people who look up to us, and so I think we’ve got to walk on a higher plane. But what’s right for some people to get motivated, I don’t want to be judgmental of what’s right for them. Our style is to let our actions speak louder.”

The contrast serves only to make the rivalry more compelling. The brash Jets versus the buttoned-down Pats. It creates high drama and great television, and with Ravens-Steelers on Saturday and Jets-Pats on Sunday, the folks at CBS have to be downright giddy for the ratings points to come.

I wonder if the words he's speaking of are the racist barbs that New Englanders were showering Sanchez with in December.

(Chandler)'s a nice piece as long as he's the 7th most important player on your roster....I think they're going to be disappointed when they see he's just a pumped-up Drew Gooden.

I spoke with a long time NFLPA employee this week, pretty high up there. He could not say enough bad things about Kraft. He wasn't a NY'er or a Jets fan, just said that people in the NFLPA hate Kraft because he is an "asshole". Exact quote.

The lowest class and cheating team in the league is calling out another team for being classless? Now that's funny.

I can see that. The Pats make a habit out of taking veteran players out behind the garden shed and putting a bullet in their heads before they get that last payday.

On the other hand, while we're name dropping, I talked to a highly respected NFL reporter last year who told that Woody is generally regarded as a circus clown in owner's circles. SO THERE!

**** Kraft, though. At least Woody doesn't pull the ol' ivory tower bit.

True that. The funny thing is I have no problem with Welker doing what he did. It was hysterical. Just hate when the Pats act like they are better.

Belichick was Fed Ex'ing hush money to his whore under the Pats account. But let's blast Rex for being a loud mouth.

I hope the fat piece of crap keels over from the inevitable heart attack only seconds after watching the jets beat his cheating fraudulent franchise on sunday. This guy is the worst cheating scum imaginable just like his coach and he deserves anything and everything bad that happens to him. These people act like they are god's gift to football after STEALING 3 super bowls through cheating. They have no shame. The absolute lowest forms of humanity run that team.

Its funny to me how the Patsies think they are taking the high road and say they do things differently when there are countless examples of the exact opposite. Thats how good the Patriots are, they can do and say the things they say they dont do and say, and its true.

None of them can see straight... They have been sucking taint for so many years, they don't no the difference between right and wrong anymore.

Kraft's definition of "class" accomodates threatening to move his franchise to Connecticut or beyond if they didn't build him a new stadium. Also stealing another team's coach. Though despite his success he can have loathsome Belicheat.

Only if he has his Fluffer, Teddy B, in his sky box to preform CPR on him and save his Richard Cory like azz so he can see his team get the crap kicked out of them by the Jets for the next decade.

put this arrogant statement in the context of Spygate and Brady saying how he hates the Jets and then show bad sportsmanship TO THE KIDS by running up scores every week as well as picking his nose on National TV

The worst part about this fat piece of garbage is that he actually thinks his team's success is legit rather than stolen and fraudulent.

So stealing a coach from a dying man, condoning his abhorrent behavior with another man's wife, condoning his near decade of cheating, allowing your receiver to shamelessly attack an opponent's coach's wife is classy?
