Just read a fun fact on ESPN this morning about that kid Williams that everyone is worked up about. He's played in 17 professional games in his career. 17!!! People around here need to breathe.

Seahawks are pretty good at evaluating talent, especially in the secondary...

Is Carpenter primarily a RG or LG? Don't know much about him. What's the overall consensus on the signing?

Played RT before being moved to LG. Like I said, similar to Ducasse in some ways. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2015/02/27/a-free-agent-offensive-lineman-the-redskins-could-pursue-james-carpenter/

Same flaws from what I read, same size/weight but a decent starter unlike Ducasse who can't even be a dependable backup.

Yes they most certainly are..And going to two straight Super Bowls, when the Jets haven't been in the playoffs in 4 years, probably made the decision even easier.

Say what you may but I think we dodged a bullet. Guy is 30 and a malcontent. 6 years 25mm guaranteed is nuts. Doubt he even starts.

In reality, I think we will dodge a major bullet if/when Revis signs elsewhere. This reminds me off the Twilight Zone episode where Billy Mummy sent people to the corn field. It's like the Knicks resigning Melo......make a splash, make the fans happy for awhile, then realize halfway through the season that you made a huge mistake, and you're stuck with a player who is not making your team any better. The Jets are 2-3 years away from being good again, and that's if they finally solve the QB position. Bringing back Revis will do NOTHING to change that.

Goal for the day:

- Sign QB Matt Moore / Brian Hoyer

- Re-sign Bilal Powell / C.J. Spiller

- Sign TE Lee Smith

- Re-sign NT Kenrick Ellis

- Sign CB Darelle Revis

- Sign CB Buster Skrine

- Sign FS Ron Parker / William Moore

Am I asking for too much?

Can't help but think of Ducasse when reading that article. Will have to check him out myself later and watch some of his games...

Was thinking about watching a bit of the SB myself...PFF had it as his worst game of the season....curious to see what the Pats did to him.

Heck, take out the RB,TE and NT and I'd still be thrilled.

Before everyone goes off on Carpenter, hopefully nobody lies and says
"when I watched SEA I focused on their guard play".  We all know that's
not true, let's deal with facts:

- Bowles has had to scheme against SEA offense for the past two years
so he knows Carpenter's game

- Maccagnan was a Scouting Director when Carpenter came out of ALA so
he knows Carpenter's game

- Granted Marshawn Lynch is a beast but SEA OLine has something to do
with him being successful.  And on top of that they are a good running
team when they use other RB's

- We were linked to Carpenter by Tony Pauline back on February 21 so
obviously we targeted him - http://www.draftinsider.net/blog/?s=james+carpenter

So I'm going to trust my GM & HC over any fan's opinion or analytic site
