You will find excellent footage from 3 2014 games (vs. Alabama, Baylor and Maryland)  (not a highlight reel) at this link: http://rotobahn.com/scouting-report-kevin-white-wr-west-virginia/

OMG.  I am so sold on White.  I'll be delighted with him or with Cooper.

The dude's passion comes through when he gets to block.  He really likes to mix it up.  Knows how to use his body against cbs and is a jump-ball specialist.  Reminds me a bit of a younger, more explosive Marshall.  Hope he's that good (if we draft him).  I would also be happy with Cooper.

Remember when Rex told Tavon he was the pick? And then the Rams jumped in front of us and picked him? Good times.

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/7860740/2012-nfl-draft-jets-pick-quinton-coples-north-carolina

Rex Ryan told Quinton Coples last week that he would be the New York Jets' selection if he lasted until the 16th pick in the draft.

The coach was a man of his word.

I can't decide which outrages me more...another regime that tells players they're selecting them, or our head coach cracking flag football jokes at his presser the other day.  So much for being all business and not being here to entertain us.  SOJ.

Rex can't hurt us anymore.  Let it go man.  :)

I think it was Rapoport yesterday who said sources told him Jets were most active team working the phones.  Looking at every possibility and Mac did say they'd talk to every single team before the draft.

It is pretty amazing but because of the great offseason (adding depth) the Jets have so many options. They could move up. Move down. They could actually take their time with the 6th pick, let time run out and just pick 7th lol.

1st round: Cooper or White

2nd round: Eli Harold or Gregory

That ^ would be a great way to start off.

If it goes down like that, I better damned well be wearing my boner pants.  Could be the best 1st two rounds we've had since Darelle Revis/David Harris.  But this time without trading away a boatload of picks as we did with them.

Our 1st, 2nd round picks thru the years since 1990 (brace yourself)

(excluding drafts with  no 1st rounder or no 2nd rounder).

2014: Pryor, Amaro

2013: (two 1sts) Milliner/Richardson, Geno Smith

2012: Coples, Hill

2010: Wilson, Ducasse (It doesn't get any worse than this)

2008: Gholston/Keller (traded up from 2nd to get him)

2007: Revis, Harris (WINNER)

2006: (two 1sts) Brick/Mangold, Clemens

2003: Robertson, Hobson (oy)

2002: Bryan Thomas, Jon McGraw

2001: Sidelines Moss, Lamont Jordan

1997: James Farrior, Rick Terry

1996: Keyshawn, Alex Van Dyke

1995: (two 1sts) Kyle Brady/Hugh Douglas, Matt O'Dwyer

1994: Aaron Glenn, Ryan Yarborough

1993: Marvin Jones, Coleman Rudolph

1992: Johnny Mitchell, Kurt Barber

1990: Blair Thomas, Reggie Rembert (puke)

Rather be picked at 6 than 10.  Could make $$ difference.  But I suppose he shared because he'd rather go 4 than 6.

Of course. He's saying go pick me at 1,2,3,4,5 if you want me, knowing that WE probably won't even draft him at 6. But that's what they all do, they all throw names out there to get teams to trade up for them, to draft them as soon as possible. Nobody wants to drop obviously. It's embarrassing, your ego gets stung, and it costs them money.

Being a senior at WVU and watching Kevin White's 2014, he's the real deal. The man is an absolute beast, would be ecstatic if the Jets took him he reminds me a lot of the way Dez Bryant plays. If you're not worrying about Cooper's transition, don't worry about Kevin White. Jersey guy too.

That's always been my take....you'd be surprised how many people think only a select few execs tell players they'll take them and then once it's said, they can't pick somebody else.

I'm sure they told every player they spoke to how they'd fit in.  I've heard the White/Fitzgerald comparison made a few times this week.

People are stupid and will believe anything they hear. It's only accelerated with Twitter. It's expected, though.

But yeah I think he could possibly end up being a great WR, I just think after hearing what Mac had to say about WRs in the 1st round, it's really not likely of becoming, unless we can't find a trade-back partner. That and I don't think it's smart to draft a receiver top ten

White has a yuke mouth. Was watching him speak on tv for 2 minutes and was already turn off. He believes he already in line to go to the HOF someday. So if we had to choose I would rather Parker who is more of an Jeffrey's type WR. White can yap his mouth about his diva greatness is another locker room.

I think part of that is the work he puts in and where he came from. He doesn't seem like some dude that is going to get a payday and check out, he wants to be in The Hall and seemingly will do what it takes to get there.  Think his approach is vastly different to some others who are just entitled.

Well, that amounts to...  something.

If he is the best player on the board, they would take him there.  Fair enough.

You draft him, that extension to Kerley looks like money well spent....

Astoundingly better than Rex telling Coples "If you are their, I guaranteed we'll draft you". Then better players the Jets didn't expect to be there had to be skipped, so that Rex's "word" wasn't broken.

Boy it is amazing the stuff some people focus on. After a touchdown I have yet to see this guy do some silly celebration but because his goal is to make it to the hall of fame that's a turn off.   Newsflash, all these guys are "Divas" to a certain extent, if you think Parker isn't you have not been paying attention.   What matters is what they do on the field and White is willing to do what ever it takes to get better; now tell me how is that a bad thing??

So what are your thoughts on White?

He scares me because he produced at a high level for a very short time. But I love that he can leap. With Geno as the QB, he is going to need to do that. :)

I wouldn't have a problem with the pick. Cooper is a safer bet, but I don't think Cooper will be there when the Jets are on the clock.

I think Oakland grabs a WR for Carr and Al Davis' ghost will tell them to go with the guy who ran the faster 40 which could leave Cooper still on the board. The one season thing with White scares me a little bit too but I'd have no problem with the pick.

Huh? He didn't state anything about about earning the honor of making it to the HOF. More so he talk about his ability so dam much you would think he thought he was in line to go there. Talked up his Bama game so dam much as if other good prospect haven't had those types of performances routinely.

Well maybe because of him being in JUCO, it meant more to him to have that kind of game against a team like Alabama. I really think it is much to do about nothing.  The guy has been interviewed on many occasions I have come away with the impression he is a hardworking guy who knows where he came from.  He has a little chip on his shoulder;  he wants to be the best.  Sorry but I don't have a problem with that.

Had De'Vante Parker not gotten hurt he would have been the clear cut 2nd WR production wise.

I'd actually be more excited about Parker than White, because it would show that Maccagnan wasn't just going with the general consensus, and taking the guy he thought was best.

What exactly did you expect? We set up visits with guys we're interested in and tell them they won't play? Macc/Bowles said the same crap to Amari I'm sure. And any other guy they set up visits with.

Lolz!  What time is the draft anyway?

The both timed about the same.  Cooper will be a Raider.

An oft overlooked part of the Jets taking WR at 6 idea is that neither Decker or Brandon Marshall are ironmen. One or both of these guys will be dinged up at some point. The chances of getting 16 games out of both of them are remote.

I thought Cooper was 4.42 and White was 4.35....just a hair, but when has that ever stopped the Raiders?

You're right about that, but does that fact mean they should use number six on a WR?  Not saying I don't want a WR there but I'd be happier with an edge rusher at six and DGB at 37.  Having to play a few games with Decker/DGB/Kerley/Amaro or Marshall/DGB/Kerley/Amaro would be fine with me if it meant having a real threat to get to the QB.
