Best wishes to all NY Jets Fans in Fla

Matthew is about 120 or so miles away from where I am right now and will hit the Treasure Coast with full force in a few hours.  Tonight is likely to be hell.   Most likely we will soon lose power for days, starting later today.  My best wishes go out to everyone in the area, including the safety of all NFL fans who reside along the likely route of Hurricane Matthew, including most especially all NY Jets fans who might be affected by this potentially extremely dangerous Cat 4 hurricane.  Peace.

All the best and our prayers but why didn't you leave?

i thank you for your kind wishes.  i am here (just outside of the mandatory evacuation zone) still for a number of reasons, but i am not one to start telling sob stories on the internet.  everyone has problems, and you just deal with them the best you can.  i went already thru jeanne and frances in this house, and my hope is we make it okay through Matthew.  It's kinda f**cked up, but even with all this going on I still hope I will be able to see the game on Sunday.  Weird.  A Jets fan no matter what!

Thanks for best wishes. I have my winter house on Hutchinson Island, Jensen Beach which is ground zero right now. May be heading there next week if we get damaged.

I live very close to Hutch Island.  There are saying that the beach erosion is going to be massive all up and down the treasure coast.  Palm trees can turn into guided missiles and go right through a house.  Hope your place is spared anything disastrous, as insurance is real hard to get close to the water.  I think we can already count of Fed relief, I just heard on TV.

I drove through the remnants of Hurricane Ike at Crystal Beach TX a few years back....the lesson I learned is don't f*ck around with hurricanes.

We lived 18 miles from Crystal Beach when Ike blew threw.

Absolutely devastating, and you are right, don't mess around with hurricanes.

Good luck to all those in Fla.

Be smart!

good luck everyone.  I hope matthew doesn't come around for a double dip, that would be bullsh*t

That double dip scenario is growing by the hour.

They said on the Weather Channel if it does double back and heads into the Gulf of Mexico it would be devastating.

The Gulf water temperature is 84 degrees.

Take it easy and listen to the authorities. My brother a huge Jets fan lives in Daytona Beach right on the ocean. The problem with evacuating is it's hard to get anywhere with that traffic and the weather. In his case you can't go south he said you basically have to go west.

I just saw on CNN that roads are pretty clear. My brother in Daytona is in an evacuation zone and decided to leave. But they don't know where to go. Up to Jax he said and then maybe west to Mississippi. So they are just driving without a final destination. They both like to gamble so I can see them hunkering down in a casino somewhere. His closest relative is my daughter but she's in Nashville.

In Sarasota(Gulf Coast).  We'll be OK here.  My cousin and fam from Sebastian (East Coast) evacuated to Tampa.

Flying to see my brother in NC tomorrow.  Also probably OK there.  couple of hours inland.

You live out there?  I actually joined the AF out of Bradenton...used to work in Sarasota from time to time.

Look at the bright side, Jet fans will not be able to endure Sunday's massacre due to no power..

All the best, be safe and hope all passes with minimal damage...
