GM Joe Douglas End Of Season Press Conference

Recommended Posts

just curious , but do GMs and HCs have season ending press conferences and then get fired? i dont remember. guess what im trying to say is this proof that JD and Saleh are 100% back next year? it would be pretty messed up to have these press conferences acting like your coming back and then get fired in a few days.

They are all coming back: Zach, MLF, Woody, JD, Salad, Kevin...

This is what my main issue is.  All these slogans, dressing up in mighty ducks jerseys, grinch costumes before the game and fun jersey swap day last week when you’re desperately trying to end a 5 game losing streak.  It’s times like that when, as a coach, you don’t reward the guys.  Things like that have to be taken away and earned.  Nothing with the jets is ever earned. Sanchez, then Darnold, then Zach - jobs never earned.  Saleh is a decent enough HC but he’s too nice.  MLF hasn’t earned the right to be this OC next year - if he is it’s on a short leash and if they stink next year, they’re all fired.

Saleh in his second year as a HC- do you know what one his goals is? Playing 1,000 rounds of golf! You can’t make this stuff up. Both are wearing ski masks. No wonder they’re so happy all the time.

Thoughts: Douglas is very pissed off.  Changes on the staff are coming (we knew this).  If someone like Lamar Jackson becomes available, they will strike with massive aggression, and Quinnen is going to be a part of that package.

Sad that it’s come to that. So desperate for a QB, you gotta throw in elite homegrown talent.

His BP looked to be about 180/120 just sitting there breathing loud.

I don’t know the man personally but I’d say a pissed off Joe Douglas will make for a good offseason for us.

This team needs to make a trade for a QB who can complete 65% of his passes and throw 20+ TDs a year and it must move on from the disaster that is Zach Wilson otherwise nothing is ever going to change for the better. and we'll be talking to a new GM at this meeting next year. I'm sorry but this guy doesn't inspire a lot of confidence when I listen to him. I don't understand how any of these beat reporters can sit there and not ask the obvious questions:

WHY are the Jets always one of the most devastated teams when it comes to injuries?

WHAT is going to be done to try and address that? or are they just going to shake their heads and say "oh well, that's our luck for you"

WHO is out there in that field of study of sports medicine? And is there any thought about trying some state of the art training methods they are going to try and look at and possibly incorporate?

Not ideal…but If its for a superstar QB in their prime you trade what you have to for that.

You don’t put Q in any deal for a Derek Carr, Jimmy Garoppolo, Jared Goff, Ryan Tannehill, etc.

They deserve everything bad that happens to them if they ship out Quinnen to give Lamar Jackson a massive contract.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think they would do it; it’s just a feeling that I have that it is on the table if negotiations go south.  Joe, from what I know about him, would much rather cave and trade the pick over the proven player.

That may be true, but he also said it will be Saleh’s call with regards to what he does with the coaching staff.

It will also be up to the players.  There a large number of prominent players who do not want him back at all.

There isn’t a single offensive player on this roster (other than maybe Duane Brown) who has the cachet to even have  an opinion on who the OC is.
