We are tortured souls as Jets fans. No need to go into details. The Bills loss made me think for a few minutes . For the last 3 years the whole media has proclaimed to the world how great the Bills are, how they are this great team that’s  destined to win the SB. Great coach, generational QB blah blah blah, Yet, in those 3 years, with a ton of home games in the playoffs, they were able to make one, that’s right one, AFC title game. Our misfits, from 2009-11,  playing zero home games made 2 AFC  championship games. Let that sink in for a few. The Bills window is pretty much closed. We may not be as far away as we think. Chins up boys.

The bills window won't close as long as they have Allen. I think they took their foot off the gas a little bit with the offense...they stopped investing into it with Allen and Diggs being as good as they are, and that could lead to losing in the playoffs. Them drafting Breece Hall was all the rage before the draft, and they should have dont it over Elam.

Agreed. Young franchise QBs means being in contention. It’s hard to break through though. Only 1” champ a year. I think Bills were emotionally spent after the Hamlin situation. Thankfully he recovered but that was a big distraction for them.

That's assuming Josh Allen won't break down. And with his style of play, it's a very high possibility he goes the way of Cam Newton and Andrew Luck

Also….Super Bowl Trophies

Jets 1

Bills Zip

No matter how many times they’ve gone.

What’s even more unfair is that those people who live up there deserve at least one, well, just for living up there.

This is the first home playoff game lost by Allen and McDermott's Bills.  This is the first game they lost in the playoffs when favored.

Brady lost playoff games from 2005 to 2013 to :

  • 2005- Jake Plummer and the Broncos
  • 2006 - Peyton Manning (that choker!) and the Colts
  • 2007 -Eli Manning and the Giants after winning 18 straight (double digit favorites)
  • 2009- Joe Flacco and the Ravens (double digit favorites at home)
  • 2010 - Mark Sanchez and the Jets (double digit favorites at home)
  • 2011 - Eli Manning and the   9-7 Giants (double digit favorites)
  • 2012 - Joe Flacco and the Ravens (home favorites)
  • 2013 - Peyton Manning and the Broncos

So Brady and Belicheat went 9 seasons without winning the big one, losing to inferior teams repeatedly.

Josh Allen has thrown over 4000 yards every year since his second year in the league. Cam Newton did it once in his career.

The Bills window is closed for what reason? They are a player or 2 away.

....and very likely always will be "a player or 2 away" for the current iteration of the Bills given their current and foreseeable cap situation.

I don't  think so. They have smart ownership. They were unlucky in losing Von Miller. I think he would have made a difference in this game. They need a pass rusher and a better RB than Singletary and maybe better DB play. The DB might be the hardest piece  but teams like the Bills get this stuff figured out. Players can see this.

They aren't smart though, that's a fiction. They could have easily kept Miller if they hadn't of signed Diggs. Who did the Vikings pick up with the Bills pick they got in exchange for the Diggs trade? Justin Jefferson. Diggs is on a close to $100 million contract, Jefferson on south of $15 million.

Look at the 2019 draft at who they could have picked up with their second round pick but instead got a guard who is now with the Cardinals. You think AJ Brown, Deebo, DK Metcalf or McLaurin would have made a difference in this game? Because that's who they passed on.

They are committed to this roster, they can't sign any big name players because they are too close to the cap and they won't have shots at top end talent in the draft because they are a good team, but not a great one. They'll have to hope they luck out in the draft but the returns on that front in terms of scouting really aren't that great.

Way more than 1-2 guys away . They are now maybe the 3rd best team in the AFC, probably 4th with how far Jags have come. Jets get a decent QB this off season they won’t even be the best team in the division. They remind me of the Montreal Expos from  the late70’s to mid 80’s. Great players…. Carter, Dawson, Velentine, Raines Rodgers. Always picked to win, never could.

Yes, the Jets have a QB issue but even with that they closed the gap on BUF.
Remember they actually beat them with Wilson at QB and went blow for blow
with them in the second game until White went out.  The AFC East is up for
grabs next year, our defense made Allen, Diggs and the rest of BUF offense
pedestrian

Their window is not closed. Your narrative supports the difficulty, and the randomness, of consistent playoff success. It’s hard.

So the bills lost.  The reason is teams are catching up with Allen.  He’s a big strong guy but can be pretty awkward when there is pressure and he can’t run out of trouble. And some of those plays by the bengals had the bills defense fooled. It’s not just von miller being in there. He might’ve helped but the bills secondary was just not covering that well.

You can take any teams draft pick and look further down in the draft and find other players they should have taken unless they took the concensus  best in that round so let's  not play that game. And nobody would be blaming the Bills for taking Diggs. That trade could not have worked better even if they took Jefferson. Diggs has been an important part of the Bills rise. What Rise has happened in MN. With Jefferson. Outstanding talent, yes but they were one and done in the playoffs. I think the Bills making that deal has paid off in spades.

Ok, if you say so. The Bengals as a team are a lot more talented than the Bills.  If the Bills had Mixon, they would be so much better than they are now. Mixon is arguably the best back in the league right now. Singletary  isn't  even top 10 imo. The league is so watered down at this position, it's  a joke. If you have an outstanding  RB, it is a real advantage.

The bills entire offense is Josh Allen. They can’t run the ball and haven’t been able to run the ball for several years. You hit Josh Allen in the mouth a few times and make him gunshy at running you can beat them

It’s how the Jets beat them earlier and it’s how they got beat yesterday

Mixon is human trash. I hope he gets diarrhea while walking for the rest of his life.
