No one has answered me today so I’m starting to get suspicious. I’m wondering what the chances are that Rodgers is actually in Florham Park right now…

Maybe by design?!? ?

“FG, we are alittle busy today.  We’ve been told by a prominent NFL player to zip it today..Sorry”.  ?

It really doesn't feel this way, but Favre (38) was younger than Rodgers (39) is now when he got traded. Favre felt ancient when we got him. The perception of QB shelf life has shifted since then, probably thanks to Brady.

Favre also looked like sh*t

Eh?  He has everything to gain, he likes to hold court, he likes to keep people guessing he likes to ensure he is in control of all narratives.  He has a contract he is going to get paid and he can take as long as he wants because he has both the Packers and the Jets by the balls.

There is no reason at all for him to rush just to make things easier on the Packers or the Jets.  He has never done that before he won't start now.

Illogical, emotion-based comment.

Let me guess, you don't like Aaron Rodgers' personality? ?

Woody-Johnson-scaled.jpg

Jets owner Woody Johnson is reportedly the reason why Gang Green didn’t make an offer to New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr as the team set it sights on Aaron Rodgers.  This, according to NFL insider Matthew Berry.  In discussing the “buzz” going on this past weekend at the NFL scouting combine, Berry had this to say about Carr and the Jets:

As long as we are talking big-name quarterbacks, despite all the rumors of Derek Carr going to the Jets, one thing that held that up was that Jets owner Woody Johnson really wants Aaron Rodgers. So, the staff has had to be supportive of that. However, secretly, the rest of the team’s front office wanted Derek Carr. Now that Carr is reportedly signing with New Orleans, the Jets are in “Hoping for Rodgers” mode. If that doesn’t work out… who knows?

As we speculated just hours ago, it appears Johnson is heavily involved in the team’s pursuit for a quarterback and ownership was happy to let Carr walk while they wait on Rodgers, whose future is known only to the quarterback.

If the report is accurate, it means the team’s front office was willing to make a run at Carr but the pursuit of Rodgers put any potential offers on hold.  Rodgers has been silent since saying last week that he didn’t want to “drag things out” in terms of announcing his decision on the 2023 season.

Should the team’s “plan A” fall through, expect the team to pivot to oft injured veteran Jimmy Garoppolo.

LOL have a little fun guys. This could be a franchise altering week that puts the Jets in title contention for the next couple of years. It's OK to get a little excited every now and then

The institutionalized masochist section of the fanbase feel threatened. No worries, they are part of the fun.

#1  No he is not playing at an all pro level.

#2 All Jets fans want the team to win.

#3 The only thing more insufferable than the doomsayers is the sunshine and lollipop sunshine squad that think every move this teams makes is gold, despite the team being awful for years and years.  Over the years the Doomsayers have been right about 90% of the time the sunshine squad about 10% of the time.

Getting Rodgers has a high ceiling for two years but the move is also a huge risk on many fronts.

I'm one of the biggest cynics around but this move imo is a no brainer.  Going from a bottom feeding team to instant contenders in the blink of an eye, even if for a brief two year window, is not a chance many teams get.  The Jets need to make this happen. The bigger risk is to NOT to make this move and suffer through another season or more with some glorified middling FA QB or Zack Wilson.

The risk of acquiring the best QB available right now is high, but the certainty of failure if you don't is even higher.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some under the radar team that comes in and gets Rodgers if the Jets fail to meet the Packers demands. I can imagine Rodgers would enjoy throwing to the Cheetah and Waddle. Rodgers could eat mushrooms with Mike McDaniels' and chest bump Govna Ron Desantis when he arrives in Florida.

Let him mature on a rebuilding Packer team.  If we sign Rodgers its a two year window.   Bring in a mature player who wants to win.

swap melijah straight up for Green Bay's Watson, who ended the year as a go to for Rodgers.

At the front of the line for Aaron Rodgers is the New York Jets.

At the back of the line for Aaron Rodgers is the New York jets.

There are no other teams interested.

You are not getting anything done fast, Rodgers has no interest in getting things done fast, he already has a contract, he is getting paid.  He will string this out as long as possible.

For now.  But can’t that change at a moments notice, especially since Rodgers is now agreeing to meet with teams?
