the Jets defense is based on a pressure cooker up front, lock down CBs so you can't get to test the safeties in coverage

or at least that's the idea

No need to test the safeties when you can dink and dunk all the way down the field using RB's and TE's vs. our linebackers...

We need box safties. Our top paid ILB, allows too many long running plays. This is a very good, economical signing. Ashtyn will likely be gone, so we save 2.5 million there. Makes this a 1.5 million signing. No brainer.

Unfortunately, this was true last season. This signing will hopefully help with this obvious weakness in our defense.

Does anyone know why he remained unsigned for so long?

Was he really not getting much in terms of offers, or were they just perhaps not appealing enough so he was just taking his time?  Seems to be very little info out there about it, other than continual references of general interest of teams over the past few months.

Not unusual to vets to wait until after mini-camp.  They don't want the reps and wear.  Maybe he only got serious after the Jets cancelled theirs.  Interesting he chose the Jets over Baltimore.  That is where he is from, he went to high school at Calvert Hall in Towson.

Cimini being Cimini.

The stats shown below are NOT just another SS. This guy is so much more. He brings the whole package…. whatever leadership role you might lose with Mosley departure has now been filled at 20% of the cost

Cimini is such a typical Dick!

Safety was weak so any add is good BUT we still have no ball hawk safety.  You need a guy that is going to get ints

QBs aren't even going to be able to see their WRs because our corners are going to erase them from the field. Don't need a ball hawk if the QB doesn't throw the ball!

Yes you do.  One of the very biggest determiners in winning games is turnover differential.  Teams that win the turnover battle win 70% of the games.

Last year the jets faded down the stretch in part because we got a whopping ONE turnover in our last 6 games.

Frisco had like 20 in their last 7 games  (Thus Brock purdy is a hero)

You must get turnovers.
