he needs to answer for this…

Here is what JD has spent on Zach, Mims, Becton, Moore and Rodgers. Who collectively have done nothing for this club.

- 2020 first round pick (No. 11)

- 2020 second round pick (No. 59)

- 2021 first round pick (No. 2)

- 2021 second round pick (No. 34)

- 2023 first-round pick (No. 13 - swap)

- 2023 second-round pick (No. 42)

- 2023 sixth-round pick (No. 207)

- 2024 second-round pick (TBD)

- $120M+ guaranteed

Imagine the squad a competent GM could build with this haul!!!

Just imagine how badly we would beat Buffalo with our back up QB if we had a competent GM

Douglas has done a lot of good things and overall is a good GM BUT he may be the type of guy that fails in some key areas.

The Rodgers scenario was a HUGE gamble, he took the gamble, he has to own it.

Now he has to go out and get a semi legit alternative to Wilson, no not some clip holder like flacco

I'm also not changing my mind that will mcdonald was a total luxury pick.

If we could only play a team each week that gives us the ball 4 times.

And then after getting the ball 4 times, STILL barely win.

In what ways is he a good GM? He has wasted numerous first and second round picks. He has an awful record. He took a huge gamble and lost.

Doing well on ONE DRAFT EVER does not make someone a good GM.

He needs to hold a press conference and answer questions about not being prepared for this situation plain and simple.
Outside of the 2022 draft he has not done one thing to keep his job other then that draft.

I agree, they were overconfident with the backup QB in Wilson first year. And no one wanted to see Zach play any snaps this year. Give the kid a year to figure it out. It sucks. Teddy was available late.

I'd say you've lost all credibility with this statement, but I have a feeling that ship sailed awhile ago . . .

Most people were under the delusion that we were getting young Rodgers.

We werent.

We werent even getting last year Rodgers.

There is a reason why Green Bay moved on.

Yes, and the defense had nothing to do with any of those TO's or pressures or sacks or any of it frankly. It was all handed to us by a team that was 13-4 last year.

They didn't GIVE us the ball 4 times.  We took it 4 times. And we won by 6 fwiw!

And if only we could play the other teams back up QB each week , we'd never lose!

He should take bows. We just defeated one the favorites for the Super Bowl. The Jets are currently tied for first place in the division.

We've had around seven picks each year for the last 30 years.

Think of all those picks!!!  Surely we've built competitive squad after competitive squad with over 200 picks!!!

Oh wait...  We've done it like, 3 or 4 times.  Present day included.

I hope to get a press pass. I would patiently bide my time until JD said “That’s all the time we have.” Then, I’d spring to my feet and intone solemnly with a twinge of insouciance:

”Why wasn’t Teddy Bridgewater a Jet in June?”

I would not wait for his reply as my fellow hacks carried me out of the press room on their shoulders as the final score from “Rudy” played over the intercom.

He fleeced Seattle and other than the dreaded QB position has built a good roster with a lot of impact players.

As I said in the parts of my post you ignored, he has had a blind spot and made some dubious decisions that might be his downfall but if you compare the jets roster now with the end of the mcaganan era it is not even close.

I don't think you realize just how bad "a slight improvement over Zack" is.

Rodgers at 30% still would have given us more last night . . .

Every position is upgraded.  The guy who won the game was a UDFA who looks poised to be a wr as well.  Either wilson rises to the occasion or the jets are going to draft another qb in round 1 next year in a strong qb class and bring in another veteran after rodgers retires.
