All four could/will be voted to the probowl next season. All four shoulda been voted #1 this season. I can't recall a better top-end draft from any team, ever. Our earlier draft that netted D'Brick and Mangold came the closest....

Mac Jones was a pro-bowl alternate one year. It's not a very prestigious or meaningful thing. JJ did have a very good season though.

If you had used a few more exclamation points in the title I might have been more excited.

Well, the Jets 1979 draft was pretty damn good!  1st round- Marty Lyons  2nd Round- Mark Gastineau  4th Round-  Defensive Back Johnny Lynn, Middle Linebacker -Stan Blinka in the 5th round.

Just to educate you, Stan Blinka was the starting middle linebacker for the Jets for 5 years, from 1979 through 1983. He was their leading tackler in 1979 and 1980.  He was named to the All-Rookie team in 1979.

We know about Mark Gastineau and Marty Lyons, who were both members of the New York Sack Exchange, and Gastineau is part of the Jets Member of Honor up in the rafters.

Johnny Lynn- Played for the Jets from 1979 through 1986.  He played in 97 games, started 48 of those games and got 17 interceptions.

Not too bad!!!

But we didn't get Pacheco with the 7th rounder we didn't have(or the 6th we didn't have, or the 5th we didn't have).....JD gonna JD....

....but yes, in all seriousness, this is the best Jets draft of all time.  We've had some good ones...2000, 2006, 2007...nothing comes close to the quality and quantity that was 2022 though.

All good info...but that's why I said 'best TOP of the draft ever!' Have we ever drafted 4 probowlers in the 1st 2 rounds b4?

Who cares about the top of the draft?  More importantly, we should examine each draft as a whole.

Without question, the best Jets draft was the draft of 1977.

1st round-  Chris Ward-  Offensive Tackle- He only made the pro bowl 5 times, and 3 of those times he was All-Pro.

2nd round- Wesley Walker-  Outside of Don Maynard, Walker is arguably the 2nd best receiver the Jets ever had.

6th round-  Joe Klecko-  Nothing more to say, except he might be the best draft pick of the Jets in their history, after Joe Willie Namath.

8th Round-  Offensive Guard - Dan Alexander-  He is the longest tenured offensive lineman in team history, making the second most starts in team history, after Randy Rasmussen.

Let's not forget the 3rd round pick, running back Scott Dierking, who rushed for 2,900 yards and 18 TD's, and the running back Kevin Long, who rushed for 2,190 yards, and 25 TD's.

This draft is the best in Jets history, and it's not even arguable.
