Mosely basically can't run sideline to sideline anymore

I get why they extended this dude he's a defensive leader and all but he's washed and no one really discusses it

That's like saying "no on really discussed Rodgers potential for injury at his advanced age".

Credit where it's due, @Sperm Edwards has been all over this issue for quite some time.

Curious tho, if he's as doneso as you guys say, why does Saleh want him back in a year with his job on the line?  Surely he knows he could get a better LB right?

Somebody trusts the Jets’ ability to properly evaluate talent and resource allocation, huh.

Good financial move, hopefully the Jets can squeeze two more years out of him before he hits a wall.  A fall off in his play is a very real possibility though so this is definitely a bit of a risk.

He's better than many people on this board would have you believe.

Not true. The Browns were laughing out loud on the sidelines when their TE was burning him like The Human Torch.

Saleh feels he needs "leaders" on the field because he's a weak leader himself. Mosley knows where his bread is buttered, and is a lapdog for Saleh.

Also in case you didn't notice of late, no one else with serious options wants to play here. Since obviously no one else wants Mosley either, in that regard it's a good fit for the two sides. Duh.

This is also the same GM gave Ryan Griffin an extension, too. Keep that in mind.

Sorry, but that's a pretty off-base take. Just because Hardman is sour grapes doesn't mean people don't want to play here. Times have changed; we're not stuck in the past where maybe some FAs were hesitant about the Jets. Even then, we still attracted plenty of free agents

Mosley has been an exceptional Jet. Blaming him or any player for being overcompensated is short-sighted and frankly ridiculous. That's on the GM and owner, not the player. Mosley's performance speaks for itself, and he'd start on any team in the league, except maybe those with a top 10 player in his position

I get it, you're a die-hard SOJN member, but come on, this is a stretch. Saleh, like every other coach, wants leaders in the locker room. And let's set the record straight—Saleh is far from a weak leader, no matter how much you want to spin it

Sure, injuries are frustrating, but that doesn't validate the baseless claims you're trying to make

Probably waited to see what the market value for an LB of his caliber is, for both the Jets and Mosley.  They gave him a deal that is a little better than what Bobby Wagner got.  Probably told him he could test free agency but was not getting any much better than what they were offering.

Agree.

Also, it would not have effected FA additions until after 4PM yesterday, when teams needed to be under the cap.

Is the harping really worth the 12 hours missed on day 4 of FA?

The Jets will have all this money in Mosely and there will be a 4th rounder or Chazz Surratt playing his spot by mid season

Mosely deserves this cash from a "lifetime achievement award" perspective but they better find guys to develop

Agreed. He's made his share of plays over the years and keeps guys accountable

he's also good on short yardage

Well he's not a bench player but the problem here is he fits the 3-4 better than the 4-3

the 4-3 guys have to get around the field like Quincy

CJ Mosely never was that player and good teams can exploit that in their game planning

Unless Mosely gets hurt, there is a 0.000000000231% chance that a 4th Rounder or guy named Chazz playing his position instead of him.

Simply hyperbole, anyone who believes this has an agenda.

Are you predicting a major drop-off from last season? Cuz he was "fine" last year. Overpaid like Hell, but fine.

Didn't LT make a huge play (and get hurt) in that playoff game? (Haven't seen that movie in years - always thought it was overrated)

Good. Davis next.

Why would anyone not want us to bring back Davis(responding to the reacts on your post)??  Dude stepped up big time last year and should still be pretty cheap.

Are the people who don't like this guy the ones who were calling him a bust after 2 years in the league and are just too stubborn to admit they were wrong?

The Jets have never finished as a .500 or team with CJ Mosley playing on it. They were 7-9 in 2019, but 7-7 when Mosley didn't see the field and 0-2 with him.

He played for 5 minutes in a week 1 loss, quit for a month, returned for another Jets loss in week 6, and then again then quit on his teammates for the rest of that season and then again the entire following season.
