"He's Randy and Megatron and Julio as a prospect."   This seems to be pretty close to saying he is in their class.

I’ll stand by what I said. He is them as a prospect - he’s a can’t miss who is playing for the HOF as opposed to other 1st round WR prospects who are not can’t miss and are just playing for solid careers.

I never once intimated or explicitly stated that anyone is on Randy or Megatron’s level. Hell, even Julio is a peg beneath those two.

Non comparative vs other WRs.

Running away from a 4.55 cb from Indiana is not that telling.

they clocked him at over 22 MPH in a game. What other info do you need?

Big picture? Fans have no control over the outcome of the game. None.

Whether they are happy or sad, it means a hill of beans. If I rooted against the Jets or for them, it makes no difference because there is no football god. Its up to the coaches and the players, and they are playing for the next contract. They don't care that the Jets have brought me misery for 50 plus years. They want a job next season playing in the NFL.

Tanking efforts are front office driven, not coach/player driven.  Easiest way to do this is to fire a HC midseason and instruct the interim coach to play only the young guys.

Woody has never fired a HC midseason in his tenure.

I feel like this has been explained about 80 times on this board.

Especially considering the Jets were not supposed to have this 1st round pick and 100% would have used the 2nd on a WR this year if Rodgers doesn’t get hurt.

Exactly...

There's no such thing as 'too much talent'!

We can't forget how Brandon Marshall transformed our offense. Or how Randy Moss transformed the Pats offense into the record books.

Don't care who our QB is going forward, they will ALL appreciate world class weapons! Get 'er done Joe!

Generational = once in a generation.   Is he going to be better than justin jefferson, jamar chase ?   Tyreek hill?   Cee dee lamb?  AJ Brown?

I'll believe it when I see it.

Yeah, probably better than Jefferson, Lamb and Brown.

He does not have to be better than those guys it about the offense in general we will have an absolute stud at every level of the offense

It’s kind of a stupid move but I can’t deny that I would be psyched about it.

So we’re giving up next years’ 1 for a wr?

It's kinda like taking your entire paycheck to the casino and dropping it on Black an hour after you punch-out of work on a Friday.

But hey, I've done worse.

We are overthinking this.

You simply take one of

Harrison, Nabers, Odunze, Bowers, Thomas

One or two will be available. Take the best elite weapon.

I really doubt bowers is the pick.  He doesn’t stretch the field and it’s not a premium position and that’s not how douglas has drafted in round 1.  I do think thomas is a top 10 pick in other drafts that won’t have 4 qbs and maybe 3 other wrs going in the top 10.

No, just stop winning meaningless December games EVERY f**king time we are in the midst of a lost season would be a nice start.  The Jets have been pulling this sh*t every few seasons for nearly 2 decades.

Yup....Professional athletes should just lose when it is convenient.

Clearly, you haven't played pro sports!

For the 8,567th time, tanks are front office driven.  They can, and do, happen in pro sports no matter how much you want to scream that it doesn’t.

It isn’t the players or coaches trying to lose, and no one ever has argued that they do.  It’s the GM who makes it happen by putting the team in position to do so.

I think thomas isn’t getting enough love b/c of the other top wrs.  But a guy like mhj doesn’t come out every year, nabers is a garrett clone and rome is a true #1 wr.  And then there’s BTJ, who gets ranked in the 12-18 range of overall prospects b/c of the strength of the qbs and OTs.  But if the jets took him I’d be ok with that.  It’s been a long time since the jets had multiple weapons and mike Williams may not be here more than a season anyway.

What does this have to do with fans wanting to watch their team win? Shesh

A lot.  Jets fans who find a 6-win season far more palatable than a 2-win season impact Woody Johnson’s thinking (or lack thereof).

Yikes
Maybe he miraculously drops to 10 .. can you envisions this board if JD actually passed on MHJ at 10 ... Would be worth the price of admission and then some.

Trade up for 1st WR pick. Take the one you want most. If the Jets could do that for next year's #2, I'm all in!

This class is deep.  No need to trade up.  Hell we could slide back and still get a damn good receiver

Never said that, but to think that fans have an impact on the outcome of a game is..well...absurd.

By all means, caring on with your tin foil theories.

Whether they do or do not I don’t care as much.  What I do care about is the fans who think meaningless wins in December matter when year after year the proof is that they don’t.  This is a message board so yeah it annoys me reading that particular dumb opinion for nearly 2 decades when we’ve seen tangible evidence it hurts far more than helps.

But you go right ahead and treat every win as a good thing in every situation if it makes ya happy.

So you are annoyed by fans being fans?

Bowers' separation looks great on tape but those were college defenses.  It will have a whole different look in the NFL.  Love the prospect.  But not for Jets at #10.  There will be better value and Jets have greater needs.
