It would stink to not invest in the OL after what we've dealt with the past few years. Add a good guy each year. Olu, AVT and Tippy (and his glorious head of hair - @JustInFudge TM) are the foundation. Jd could not survive here if he took bowers and then there’s a big injury to the OL, especially in this deep OL class. He had to do this.

Doggin94it
2 minutes ago, Warfish said: Torn. Its a decent enough long term pick, our OL is old and short termers. It’s a decent enough move because we’re all in on Rodgers with three VERY fragile OL starters. But personally I still think we’re very weak at O skills. Wilson and Hall, that’s it. Williams is as fragile as our OL, Larard is a loathsome lazy bum and the guys behind thst are total JAG’s. Protecting zrosgers isn’t enough. We have to score. Wilson and Hall are good, but we need another real healthy weapon. Badly. This, pretty much. The draft isn't over, and the receiver depth is good into the second and third rounds, so there is still a chance that they can meaningfully upgrade the receiver room. Truth is if Mike Williams stays healthy we have that additional weapon,, but I would have vastly preferred somehow landing Odunze in the first and then Going offensive line in the third. The Giants Taking a wide receiver basically took that off the board

Popular Post T0mShane
I like the pick. It’s fine and good. Ten year starter, but won’t help Saleh steal any cheap wins in 2024, so everyone is still on pace to get fired. I feel like we own a 2012 Honda Civic with 250k miles on it and we just leased a ‘24 Honda Civic to add to the fleet. Will McDonald is the Vespa we keep in the garage but never use. Side benefit: No Bakhtiari, which leaves Aaron Rodgers dead alone in his Jersey manse all winter wondering why his $20 mil in donations couldn’t push RFK over 3% in Washoe County. 5 1
Popular Post Joe Willie White Shoes
Smart pick by the Jets The last two seasons were derailed by OL injuries Smith is a walking injury and Moses is no spring chicken. AVT can't get through a season either. They need depth with an old man at QB coming off a serious injury The OL currently has suspect depth The history of TEs drafted in the first round in the past 25 years is abysmal. I'm not convinced Bowers is different from the other 20+ guys drafted previously in the first round. I heard the same accolades for Pitts, Vernon Davis, Enron, and others that I hear for Bowers. I'm not convinced he's different. The elite TEs in the NFL were all drafted in the 2-3-4th rounds. It doesn't make financial sense to draft a TE that early It is suspect that Bowers did not work out at all pre-draft He is undersized Recovery from tightrope ankle surgery is dicey. Some recent NLF players took a long time - Tony Pollard is one. When you combine that with his refusal to work out, I am suspicious about his health. This is a great OL draft and it fits a desperate need. The Jets need to think beyond 2024. This is not a one year plan no matter who the QB is or isn't. Plus, rookie TEs rarely contribute . What is Bowers going to give you? 40 catches for 400 yards? 9 1

DoubleDecker
People were pissed we missed out on Broderick last year when he would’ve entered the same situation with lesser talent in front of him. How would he have been a good pick and Fashanu is a terrible one? Not sure, but if he’s a true LT for next 5-10 years, no one will care. I get the pick, the draft isn’t over and the jets can still leverage current and future picks for talent in the draft. Let’s see how everything turns out first before lighting the torches. 1
