Peppers is 6 1 205 my concern is Bowles and where he would use him....great player NJ native

Jake Butt Michigan TE is another good player

Until we find a QB nothing else matters............

I couldn't disagree more. Get a good OL and a good defense and you can win with most QB's. The OL and defense on this team sucks right now. Look at the time Dak, Brady, Wilson, Rodgers and other winning QB's are getting, then look at the Jets.

As far as Peppers goes, he can be an Ed Reed game changer on defense.

Right now...as we speak......busy searching for the next Smurphy Lee.

The Jets should let the fan base make the selection.

Send out official NYJ draft pick cards to the PSL owners and let them write in their pick.

Highest vote count gets selected. Could the fans do any worse than mgmnt has?

The Broncos proved last year that a big investment in defense can overcome mediocre QB play.  The Jets have made a huge investment in defense and continue to employ defensive minded head coaches.  The basic difference here is that our defense and coaching is producing at a far lower level than what one would expect given the money and draft resources that's been committed.

The Jets have been trying to prove this out for over a decade. The Broncos were the exception, not the norm.

Time for a big investment in a QB.

You can't draft Peppers because Gilchrist already has that job and already makes too much money, even though he sucks. You'd also have to be creative to maximize Peppers' abilities, and we're the opposite of creative.

They can't draft a QB because they drafted Hackenberg, even though Hackenberg sucks.

They won't draft a WR because Marshall, Enunwa, and Decker are already signed, and Maccagnan blew a 2 on Devin Smith.

The No. 1 area of need in 2017 will be CB, the head coach is an alleged DB guru, and the only healthy, capable CB on the roster next year will be someone named Juston Burris.

So, they'll draft a CB or a RT, then trade for Romo or Cutler in the offseason, not because they're good options, but because Woody will think they'll fill some seats.

also, there are no draft "experts." They're all idiots who steal money for three months until they revert to being really ******* stupid fantasy football "analysts."

have a nice day

I actually agree with you, but you could make the case that 3 of the past 4 SB winners were defense dominant (Broncos 2016, Seahawks 2014, Ravens 2013)...

They can cut Gilchrist.

I'm interested to see Peppers in this game.

It'll be tons of fun drafting a free safety at 5, then spending two years teaching him how to play safety, then letting Calvin Pryor walk as a free agent, then signing another safety to start alongside Peppers in two years. That'll own.

That's why I want to see if he is a true playmaker. I understand that concern.

If Mac likes Hack, so be it.  However, my hope is that there's no way they pass on a QB with a higher grade because Hack might be a good player once he learns how to throw a football.

If they're coming off a 5-11 season, there's no way the GM has the guts to concede that he burned a two on Hackenberg, especially considering Kizer and Watson aren't can't-miss guys. Macc pushed all of his chips in on the Hack pick last year, which only compounds how indefensible it was. The big red flag on Maccagnan was that he was a scout who didn't understand the totality of running an organization, and that Hack pick was the definitive evidence that the red flag was spot-on. Unless Hackenberg has an epiphany this offseason, Macc effectively ended the careers of everyone on the current staff.

Hoping he's serious enough about the QB position that he'd take another one early on in the upcoming draft if grade warranted it.  He was spotted talking to Kizer on the filed pre-game when ND played at MetLife.

The question will be if he has the guts to make that pick, regardless of the grade. I don't know if he has that kind of cachet in the building.
