I am a SOJ fan and damned proud of it

Now that the Rex - Buffalo romance is officially over, I have to get something off of my chest. I cannot understand how the NY Jets organization can justify to it's paying Customers, their retaining arguably the worst HC and CS in their history, after we lose Sunday to (head coach less) Buffalo and finish this deplorable season at 4-12. Buffalo fired their HC after going 8-8 2 seasons in a row, yet we are supposed to endure another year of horrible coaching and embarrassing losses because they say they want "continuity", or because they say there is "nobody available who would be better to coach the team", or because they somehow won 10 games last season? I would not argue this had the team played hard this season, finished 8-8, or even 7-9 but were competitive in doing so.  This is football, the ball bounces in strange ways, you win some close games and you lose some if you compete that is. The fact of the matter is this team did not compete all season and that falls squarely on the CS. The only continuity they will achieve by keeping Todd Bowles and staff is the continuity of losing and players quitting for the season in September, with no consequences for their lack of effort. This season has been an utter abomination, the likes of which I have not experienced in all of my years. It was over in early October after the KC game. The effort by the employees of the NY Jets was nonexistent all season long, a total disgrace to be honest considering the dollars involved - salaries, ticket prices, parking, food merchandise etc. Ok, if they played for free and did not want to get injured, fine, I would understand Mo Wilkerson disappearing after week 1, or his buddy saying "f**k this game where da hoez at" 10 minutes before a Nationally televised game which they did not even try to win. The whole team quit, not just Mo. Let's call it like we see it, this team put forth zero effort in most of their games, being embarrassed on National TV 3 or 4 times, scoring under 10 points in several games, throwing more than 5 interceptions in one game, blocked punts, missed FG's, no defensive scores, rarely a defensive turnover, ST's that have set the NFL back 100 years, zero in game adjustments, just to name a few shortcomings. They kicked a FG last week down 41-0, arguably one of the most pathetic moves I have ever seen. The problem I have with Bowles & Company is their total lack of ability to scheme to their opponents weaknesses and take advantage of those weaknesses by using their strengths. There is no way in hell this team should be 4-12 considering the payroll attached to their employees (I cannot call them players because they do not compete like players do), there is no way they should only be able to manage 6 points against the Rams, 3 points against NE, 6 points against ARI and on and on. They have played scared all season long, and did so last season as well. Their winning 10 games last season was a mirage. That team was not very good either as witnessed by what happened in week 17 against a team that had nothing to play for.

Everyone calls guys like me SOJ fans. Well so be it, I am a SOJ fan and proud of it. I am proud to say that I do not run my business the way the NY Jets play football. I want to win. I want to be the best at what I do, and expect my employees and co workers to exude the same professionalism as I do on a daily basis. I want to be proud of my football team and the guys who play for it, not a bunch of over paid hoodlums who go out of their way to display zero class whatsoever. "Whe da hoez at" to me is not English, it is punk ass, gangster street talk, and not worthy of anyone who makes the kind of money that these guys make, and definitely not worthy of someone who supposedly graduated from College with a degree of some sorts and is fortunate enough to have the body and talent to play professional football - a kid's game for mega bucks. I work real hard to make my paltry living and it disgusts me to no end when I see these spoiled, self entitled punks getting paid more money in 1 year than I will make in my lifetime, only to not put forth any effort. I hate losers and losing. I can however understand losing through lack of talent, but never through lack of effort. Effort is something this entire bunch put forth none of.

Weeks 1-2 they played with effort, however, the rest of the games were a joke. They displayed zero effort in the rest of the games, only able to beat the dregs of the NFL. 4 wins, against Buffalo, Cleveland, SF, and Baltimore. Any time they played an opponent of quality, they cowered like little girls and just quit. Some of the offensive outputs were comical as well, I cannot recall an NFL team scoring less than 10 points in so many games in 1 season. It is funny, the 1996 1-15 Kotite team's results look a lot like 2016:

The 1996 team tried at least, yes there were some blow outs, but also there were quite a few close games as well. Now look at this seasons debauchery:

2 X 4 game losing streaks and one (possible) 3 game losing streak. 3 games scoring only 3 points? RUFKM? The Kotite team never scored less than 6 points, and in today's NFL if you think about it, that is tough to do!

I see no justification to bring these guys back as they do nothing well. Name one thing that Todd Bowles does well as a HC, name one thing the coordinators excel at, and, most importantly, name one thing that tells you this staff will get better and we have a bright future under these guys.

Sorry for the long rant, I had to write this after Rex was fired. For all of his shortcomings, his team did not quit and played hard until the last second into OT last week, and this waste of bum wipe CS will probably get a 3rd year for what reason I have absolutely no idea.. Unreal.

Let's put your whole rant into a nutshell shall we?

Todd Bowles kicked a FG down 41-0 with 4 minutes left in the game. I'm sorry, if I own the NY Jets & my coach pulls that pussy move after the type of season in the second to the last game of the year in the building of the team that's been kicking our azz since 2001...I'm firing him the next morning.

That would have been FINAL stupid decision of a boatload of stupid decisions this year. Most EMBARRASSING thing I've ever seen as a Jet fan & ive seen a lot since 1968.

Was talking to my Dad today in NY and told him the same exact thing.

The key to being a SOJF is when you begin to hate other Jets fans as much as you hate the Jets.  The closest I got to hating my fellow Jets fans was the Genobots.  Thankfully we pretty much all got around to realizing Tebow sucked.  I might have flipped my lid if their were some Tebow lovers around.

Me: SOFJF since the mid-60s.  Hey, and I'm still fine. Sure I'm augmented with Zoloft and Ativan, but I accept my fate happily.  Okay, not happily.  Usually pissed off and about to jump off a bridge, but in a good hearted kinda way.

no need for Viagra as the JETS are always fukking you.

Jet fans really don't have it as bad as we like to make it out to be. We have been to the AFC Championship 3 times in the last 20 years and playoffs quite a bit. Compare that to Browns, Bills, Lions, even Dolphins. I will say when we STINK, WE STINK! IE 95,96, 14, this year.

2 years is not enough time to establish yourself. If this season proves anything, its that the Jets were fools gold last year. You have to give ppl time to develop young players and build a foundation.

This fanbase wants instant results and its very hard to build a consistent winner by doing that. You have to lay the ground work first.

Or we can just fire these guys, hire two more guys, spend big in FA, maybe have a good year or two, and then end up back in the same spot we are now.

Give people time to build something. I know its frustrating watching a bad team week after week but there is nothing the Jets can do once the season starts. This is the team they have. They couldnt replace this team with a whole new team in the middle of the season. I'm not willing to give up on this regime yet. The same people blasting them this season were probably some of the ones who had no problem with them last season. Bowles and Maac havent changed. They werent good last year and bad this year. They are who they are. I want to give them a chance still.

I think Bowles is getting fired. I don't see how any coach can survive the amount of no-shows by their team as the Jets have had this season. Bowles tries to put a nice face on it, saying the players are trying. But some players have contradicted him, questioning team effort.

Losing is one thing. Losing ugly, as this team has repeatedly done all season, is another. Woody can't afford a repeat of this next year. His absence in New England was a give away of what's about to happen.
