Crowder MRI - Foot Injury - Cleared! will practice Wed.

Recommended Posts

There are some best and worst case scenarios when you injure a foot and get an MRI.  At this point, knowing nothing, I might sign up for 6-8 week timeframe that AJ Green was given if the odds are 50/50 that Crowder has a minor 3 weeks sprain versus something much, much longer.

I'm not signing up for an 8 week absence when he could be back at practice in a few days..I think worst case is 6-8 weeks. AJ green was carted off the field..

True about AJ, but 6-8 weeks isn't worst case.

Let's hope for the best.

WR Jamison Crowder (Monday, July 29): Left practice early Monday with a left foot injury. Severity not yet known. Set to have an MRI and other tests.

OL Brent Qvale (Monday, July 29): Gase announced that Qvale’s injury is not season-ending and will not require surgery, though he will be out for “a while.” He was carted off the field early in Sunday’s practice after suffering what appeared to be a serious right knee injury. Trainers placed his leg in an air cast before helping him into the cart.

RB Le’Veon Bell (Monday, July 29): Practiced fully on Monday. He suffered cramps and received attention from trainers on the sideline several times during Sunday’s practice. No long-term health concern.

TE Ryan Griffin (Monday, July 29): Did not practice due to a throat issue, but Gase said it has been resolved and he will practice when the team returns on Wednesday.

WR Jeff Smith (Monday, July 29): Missed practice with a hamstring issue. The Jets have not revealed the severity of the issue.

CB Jeremy Clark (Monday, July 29): Missed practice with a hamstring issue. The Jets have not revealed the severity of the issue.

CB Montrel Meander (Monday, July 29): Missed practice with a hamstring issue. The Jets have not revealed the severity of the issue.

TE Daniel Brown (Monday, July 29): Did not practice on Monday after leaving practice early on Sunday after suffering a hamstring injury. The Jets have not revealed the severity of the issue.

S Marcus Maye (Sunday, July 28): Still recovering from shoulder surgery at end of 2018. Was placed on PUP list just before the start of training camp. Participated in spring practices in limited fashion; worked in 7-on-7 drills, but not full team periods. Gase said PUP stint is not due to a setback, just slower healing than expected. Jets “hope” to have Maye back for Week 1.

LB Jeff Allison (Sunday, July 28): Missed practice on Sunday due to a shoulder injury. The severity of the issue remains to be seen.

CB Bless Austin (Sunday, July 28): As expected, he was moved to the active/non-football injury list just before training camp as he continues to rehab from a torn ACL suffered at Rutgers. His timetable is unclear. This was Austin’s second ACL injury in the same knee.

OL Toa Lobendahn (Sunday, July 28): Was placed on active/non-football injury list after the first day of training camp and has not yet been removed. The nature and timeline for his injury are still unknown.

S Brandon Bryant (Sunday, July 28): Was placed on PUP list shorty before training camp with a foot injury. There is no timetable for his return as of yet.

RB Jalin Moore (Sunday, July 28): Placed on reserve/non-football injury list in late May. That designation means he is done for the season.

Crowder is the slot guy so he isn't the 5th option. He's hurt and gone for any length of time it's a blow. Especially with Herndon suspended. Lets hope for the best.

Anderson, enunwa, herdon and bell are better options in the passing game then a 5’7 guy whos hurt all the time.  So yes, he is the 5th best option we have in the passing game.

And burnett or dortch will fill that role just fine.

Actually you're wrong. With Herndon out going by what you say Crowder becomes the 4th option. Now we all know that Bell is the First option in the running game but unless the play is specifically designed to go to him he is most likely the last look in a straight up passing play. So that basically moves Crowder up too 3 going by what you say. Losing Crowder will hurt no doubt.

Huh?

Crowder is the starting slot receiver.  So far in camp he appeared to be Darnold's favorite target.  If he is gone for any length of time it is a major set back.

I'm hoping it's only a few days, but he was going to be a major player in this O if not the leading WR in receptions.

Herndon is gone 4 games and there are plenty of plays where the slot is the #1 option in the read even if they aren't the most talented player on the field.....Brandon Cooks is more talented than Edelman but who was more important on a play by play basis?

Knocking on all the wood right now... Not enough depth for a loss like this. Crowder will probably wind up being a high volume target, losing him limits the offenses total potential. Cant all be checkdowns to Bell or long balls to RA.

On what planet are Burnett and Dortch on the same level as Crowder? You also can’t depend on Enunwa being healthy and dortch is even smaller the Crowder. Henderson is suspended so there’s 4 games.

Blame the CBA. The hamstring injuries are outrageous in today's NFL. Hopefully Crowder just twisted his ankle. MRIs for NFL players are like X-rays in the real world. Walk into any walkin clinic & they're Xraying something.

Ok, let's bet. I bet he finishes closer to number one in receptions than 5, barring injury. 100 bucks ok?

5th option.. wtf are u talkin bout...?????? Crowder it's going to have more receptions than Robby Anderson and Chris Herndon probably.the only players on the Jets offense that will have more receptions than Crowder will be an Enunwa and Bell. Dortch and Burnett ...lay off the crack

I disagree with this completely.  IMO (an educated guess) it wouldn't be surprising if Crowder was the FIRST read/option on many Gase-designed plays.  Crowder's unique abilities are a little underrated.  I believe Crowder could be a major weapon, particularly against a defense pre-occupied with covering guys like Anderson, Herndon and Bell out of the backfield.

In other words, Crowder might be the 5th guy the defense is worried about but he may be the first or second guy Darnold is looking to target on many plays.

Only way Crowder is the fifth option is if he's hurt for 6-8 weeks and then takes time to get back in the swing.

If he's healthy week 1, he'll be a top 2-3 option.
