Popular Post BCJet
The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson doesn't believe LB Kiko Alonso is a lock to make the Dolphins' 53-man roster. Alonso has been sidelined most of the summer with an undisclosed injury. The Dolphins are rebuilding and want players on the defensive side who are versatile and can fill many roles. Alonso just turned 29 last week and carries a massive cap number at over $8.2 million. Miami would clear just $25K in cap space by releasing Alonso, but they'd save $4 million in cash. Sam Eguavoen and Jerome Baker have been working as the Dolphins' starting linebackers under new coach Brian Flores. Not only is Gase obviously familiar with him, but Alonso seems like he could be a decent replacement for Avery Williamson and an excellent complement to Mosley as he is a good cover LB. Im not sure what his injury situation is but he may be willing to do a 1 year prove it deal and then sign something more long term next year - when hopefully Cashman is ready to be starter. 6

Jetsfan4life90
Would be a great signing to replace Williamson if he actually does get released, but Kiko could probably land a longer term deal somewhere else than what the Jets would likely give him.

Lith
Not sure how good he still is, but he seems to confuse easily. 1 1
jetstream23
If he's being released because of $$$ and not being a fit for the new scheme then that doesn't raise any alarms with me, although Gregg Williams might want scheme versatility too. But if he's hurt...we don't need that.

Greenseed4
Does he have long hair or short hair? That’s all I care about. The rule should be: 1. One guy on defense can have long hair/dreadlocks. He will be known as “that guy with dreads”. 2. Zero guys on offense can have long hair/dreadlocks

varjet
Alonso was the type of player that got Darron Lee drafted. Smaller but quick LB that plays tough and smart. Lee missed the tough and smart part 1
