Dunnie
Nick Wright was interviewing Mangini on first things first... About Adams ... Who should STILL be the head coach of this God awful team. Mangini didn't look so hot .. hope he is ok ... He looked very peaked ... Anyone heard anything ? Mangini, who allegedly built the team Rex took to back-back AFCCGs, only managed to get to the playoffs once with what I can only assume would be considered the team that Herm built. His second year was awful, and his third year things only looked good after Favre told Brian Schottenheimer to STFU and played offense his way. Then he got hurt, and this amazing team that Mangini built finished 1-4 to miss the playoffs. I don't buy this black-balled nonsense. If the guy was good, he'd have a job. Crack addicts have fewer holes in their resume than this guy. 3

You know because Tanny rocked the players. You also might want to look at the Jet playoff rosters under Rex, they hardly resemble the "loaded" teams some imagine Mangini left Rex.
Popular Post Beerfish
Mangingi was the best coach this team has had in some time, if ever there was a guy that should have been given more time it was him. Two winning seasons out of three, drafted well when he was there, teams were disciplined. The 2008 team was pretty dangerous and about 2/3 way through the year was the best team in the league. 13 2

Lurker89
God I love how eternally jaded and divided on everything this fan base is..... I definitely belong here... Still having impassioned fights about Mangini. Guys it was a decade+ ago .... It's ok. We should all know better than to expect nice things.

Gee, same with rex ryan the darling of many people on here. Also 'great coaches' like todd bowles are working so that totally validates things.....and our own coach who has a hilariously bad resume so far in his career. BallinPB
lol Mangini? Rex took "Mangini's team" somewhere Mangini could not take them even with Brett Favre at the helm. They went 8-3 in 2008 and proceeded to execute an all-time great collapse.

He couldn't win with the team he allegedly built with Pennington or Favre at QB, but Rex took it and won with Mark ****ing Sanchez. Herm drove the team into the ground, Mangini inherited a mess. He took them to the playoffs 10-6 in his first year -- the fact that team made the playoffs and beat the Pats in Foxboro is an argument that he's a good coach, not a bad one.

Would be if he beat the Patriots in the playoffs, but he lost his only playoff game. Herm had the Jets at 10-6 the year before he got fired. He went 4-12 with Brooks Bollinger as his primary QB. Mangini went 4-12 with Pennington and Clemens and held onto his job. He shouldn't've. 2

Irish Jet
Mangini was utter trash. To give him credit for Rex's superb couple of seasons is insultingly stupid. Mangini overseen a team of cowards. Would get bullied off the field every week. A fraudulent pretentious prick.
