Maxman
This thing is headed towards a complete tear down. Rex is gone. It is speculation but the Jets will probably look towards an offensive coach to replace him, so that would mean Marty M would be gone as well. So the question is, are there any coaches the Jets should keep? Special teams and asst special teams coach -- see ya. There is nobody I think they have to keep except Karl Dunbar. IPBanBadPosters
Dunbar is the only one I might not fire alongside everyone else before bringing on a new HC, but I'd still give the incoming HC the option of firing him if he wished to bring on his own D-line coach. I agree. Keep Dunbar at all costs. I wish he was a HC candidate. Don't think he is but he can coach a dline. He has been great from Minn to here. I hope he becomes the next Westhoff. Stays for a long time. Don't think it will happen though.

DaBallhawk
Dunbar of course, he's the best in the business. Please stop the HC-Candidate nonsense, he's another Rex Ryan, heavily defensive minded with the focus on the D-Line. That's both their background. You don't get rid of one guy to replace him with basically the same guy again, that's stupid. He might get a promotion here to coordinate the defense, I think that's what it'll take for him to stick around because I'm sure other teams might give him a shot as a coordinator this offseason. The rest of the coaching staff, the coordinators, they all should be fired. Especially Lal (WR coach) or whatever the hell his name is.

I saw Wesley Walker at a Jets event in early November. He told me he didn't even realize that Aguiar was on the Jets coaching staff until he met him about a week before that. slats
NahClean sweep. New GM who hires his HC,who hires his staff.Just like real teams do I agree to a point, but the way I'd handle it is fire just John Idzik and hire his replacement. Put that guy in complete control, and let him retain or fire anyone he wants. Presumably he'd hire his head coach, and then that head coach would decide which of the assistants (if any) he wanted to retain. The result may become a complete sweep, but it doesn't have to be. Unloading a guy like Dunbar would definitely be baby with the bathwater type foolishness, IMHO.

NJ
No reason to get rid of Dunbar other than making a clean sweep. Form a line after they pick up their sh!t and walk'em out. Unloading a guy like Dunbar would definitely be baby with the bathwater type foolishness, IMHO. Agree with this. It's fairly common practice to let a HC pick his own staff, while the team retains the current assistants until he decides what he wants to do. There are plenty of times that new HCs will opt to keep a position coach who is already in place for a successful unit of the team. Now granted, I'm not sure how many people on the Jets coaching staff would really qualify as such, but no reason not to let the new HC make that decision. Just as long as you don't force the new HC to retain anyone, there's no downside to keeping those guys around a couple of extra weeks. If anything, it basically just gives the new HC right of first refusal with those guys.

ebonix
.. Sorry Rex, we'll always have a spot in our heart for you but we need to move on. Other goners include Marty Morhingweg, Dennis Thurman, Thomas McGaughey, Sanjay Lal... wait, why list them all? There are two keepers: Karl Dunbar and Bobby April III and they remain in their positions for at least another year. And as for Rex, he finds a new home in Atlanta as DC and, fixing the defense of a team that already has offensive talent will be the recipe for Rex to return to his deep playoff run ways. McGaughey's teams tackle ok.... but 2 blocked punts in last two games were costly. We can do better.
