Heck yeah bring Rex back as D coordinator. Absolutely. The guy brought us to not 1 but 2 AFC championship games and we were competitive in both of them with Mark Sanchez as our QB.

Totally agree.

If you brought him back as a DC, he would constantly be talking, and angling for the HC job.   This isn't Billy Martin and the Yanks, you can't go back home again.

With over 75 votes counted here's where we are...

1. Slightly more than half our fans would like Rex back as a DC only.

2. A majority do not want him as HC, even if he were given very little control of the coaching staff or had a top OC put on his staff

 

Quite honestly, this is about what I expected given the subjective comments we read about Rex here.

I really can't fathom how anyone could possibly give different answers to each of these questions.  To me it's obvious it should be all no, but know there's enough folks out there still in love with him for whatever reason to get some yeses.  However, how could their possibly be any middle-ground?  He's either up for all of it or none of it.  Anything in between would actually be only worse.

Rex, like his brother is very overrated as a dc.  Like many  coaches provide him with a host of pro bowlers and he will get some results.  If not he won't.  He is also all about his scheme, he showed that clearly in buffalo where he took a top 3 defense and turned it into a malcontent underachieving unit.
