Popular Post RonaldJet
He was evicerating Darnold today (and ballwashing Fitzpatrick like he was Tom Brady). I think he was a big part of the negativity on Sam that came out of this game. What did folks at the game think of his performance? I can’t really tell when he misses open WRs on TV, but Feely called it out a lot. Also it looked like Fitz played a pretty lousy game vs a decimated defense, and if you listened to the broadcast you would think he was playing flawless. 9
Popular Post ScarletKnight89
Sam missed some throws today. But he still made some big plays when it counted as well. It was a mediocre performance. Not bad, but not all that good either. But Feely was ridiculous in his criticism. He said Darnold played bad last week against Cincy and he didn't. Darnold played fine last week. He was overly critical of him today but Darnold definitely wasn't on top of his game. He missed some big plays.
joewilly12
Most if not all of the NFL announcers with the exception of the Sunday Night Football in America crew Chris Collinsworth and Al Michaels are all garbage. 2
Ruby2
Feely was spectacularly awful today...Who was even the main play by play guy? This was like cbs's Z lineup, truly terrible.
Popular Post slimjasi
Play in and play out, he was mediocre. Someone else wrote that he was "uneven." I think that is a great way to put it. He had some very good throws and some very bad misses. At the end of the day, he came down the field when he had to. Also, he put the ball in the endzone twice. The other QB who Feely was ballwashing didn't. That was the difference in the game.
Ruby2
O wow it was Tom McCarthy as the main play by play. I think he did Mets games on radio for a few years with Howie Rose back in the day...
Popular Post Phillyjet
I watched it in an airport and without sound. He was up and down, and better in the first half. Thought he pressed a bit at times, and should have run for a first down that might have set up a TD in the second half. But as someone who has been around since the 80’s, I really believe he has the most upside of any QB we’ve had. We give him a line and some playmakers, he will be special. He has great vision, and is decisive. The feet need work but he can also throw off a bad platform. Pretty accurate despite not having a true number 1 receiver. And he’s only 22. 12 1
Popular Post Saul Goodman
Your best post so far lol. I agree. Fans’ opinions here were apparently swayed by Feely’s commentary. It was pretty shocking - “if Darnold is a franchise quarterback HE HAS TO MAKE THAT THROW”, as if one throw or even one game is sufficient to make that type of determination.

kevinc855
Couple things here. CBS is Gona put the b squad on two losing teams, Darnold did miss some big throws. This wasn’t his best game but he also didn’t play bad. He was mediocre today
Joe W. Namath
He was spot on with his assesment. Darnold was awful today and has been awful in far too many games this year. It is very concerning.
RonaldJet
I also don’t think it was fair that Feely insinuated that Gase had to “dumb down” the offense for Darnold. Nobody reported it like that, but Feely felt it fit the narrative I guess. Again... you all know I’m not a Darnold guy, but Feely was overly critical. Did the Jets cut him or something? 2

Rhg1084
Sam played fine, led the Jets on a game winning drive. The play calling stunk. And he has nobody to throw the ball to or run the ball either doesn’t help

genot
I don't think Darnold has the velocity in his throws the way he did last year. Perhaps his body hasn't been allowed to fully recover from the mono he had. I like darnold very much, but i think he needs to spend more time at the facility, working on his strength, stamina. Etc. etc.

He missed some big plays. Aye, who won the game?. And it was 2 FG drives Darnold Engineered that won the game in the end, plus he passed for 2 TDs in this game while Fitzloser passed for 0 TDs hoping the FG kicker would win the game by breaking the FG record. Anybody else wins games in this fahion and it's a great win, but we do and there are always questions. We are trying to turn the corner and win games with some level of cosistency and who cares even if by 1 point to whoever. Darnold and the Jets with a decimated team have won 4 of the last 5 and that is always hard in this league. Had Sam not got Mono we likely make the playoffs.

Agreed. guys like Feely/Archuletta think that their job as colour commentators is to critique play calls by telling the tv audience what they’d be calling instead. It’s annoying. It’s like they think they’re Johnny Miller .

Last year, i just remember where he fired the ball a bunch of times with defenders around, but the football got to the receiver before anyone could defend it. This year, i haven't seen that.
