2. The NFL is about to double down on their “we are sooooo woke” campaign in the wake of Flores’ accusations.
3. I’m not sure it’s smart they began it with a company that basically uses slave labor to make it’s product..

Had a professor make a fairly compelling argument about 'sweat shops' - we specifically read about Nike and their PR disaster with 'sweat shops' back in the day.

Long story short;

Companies hopped from country to country for cheap labor - but each time that country's standard of living improved because of the foreign direct investment. Essentially the argument was that every developed nation goes through the 'sweat shop' phase and they're better off after it.

What was considered low wages in the developed country were competitive in the developing nation. Jobs, wage growth and an increase of foreign investment paved the way for better jobs, more accelerated wage growth and even more investment. 

We read case studies on Japan, South Korea and China. Even went back to the beginning of the 20th century, when we were the sweat shop nation for Europe.

It was just interesting to hear that side of it. 

Anyways, just reminded me of that.

So, what happens when you throw in an amoral, genocidal Totalitarian Communist Government that artificially manipulates its currency to keep those benefits that usually would reach that lower labor class population at a minimum in order to maintain a trade imbalance with that unending supply of cheap labor to keep the money flowing so they can modernize their Military-Industrial sector while destabilizing the entire region in order to pursue post-regional dominance? (Political prisons, the MSS, and Concentration Camps for minorities are just thrown in as bonus bad guy points)

 

Did your Neo-Socialist econ 101 Prof talk about any of that, or was he also pretending that China is really actually super nice, and everything there is simply wonderful, totally groovy, bro,  and let's ignore 80 years of brutal history that makes our nations mistakes and issues look like a f***ing Jaywalking citation in comparison?
