Joe W. Namath
I lost the article to post. But is sounds like Kentucky is offering calabrese the oc job there. That stinks. Hes one of the young, bright up and coming minds in this league. I think he really impressed at the senior bowl.

UntouchableCrew
Seems like a downgrade in position if he wants to be an NFL coach -- but I'd imagine SEC OC pays more than NFL QB coach on most staffs. Just pay him more if you think he's good and want to keep him, IMO.

Jimmy 2 Times
This is healthy. Good programs have their coaches promoted and hired away. It shows that Saleh may have put together a good staff.

Dunnie
Promising young coaches seeing this will want to come here. It shows that we have a good program and support the professional aspirations and growth of our coaching staff. 3

IntoTheGreen
He was already a college OC at Wagner on Staten Island. In theory it looks good that we hired a good staff but the reality is the Jets need at least one more year of stability around Zach. I also think if this coaching staff were to succeed, he'd be the prime candidate to be groomed for future OC if LeFleur were to get a HC job. Our coaches need to help him see the big picture and practice patience.
sec101row23
Makes sense since Mark Stoops likes to run the “Shanny” system and Liam Coen the previous OC took a job with McVay and the Rams. This would be a good gig for Calabrese, although I’m not sure he’s ready for it right now.

Obviously it would be foolish to think that Shanahan isnt the straw that stirs the drink there offensively, but they've lost some really valuable coaches this offseason. Losing mcdaniels who is an absolute master in the run game, and now they're QB coach who they would ideally like to continue to develop a young inexperienced QB makes things at least interesting.

Morrissey
Going from a QB coach for an NFL team (who's being groomed for bigger things) to OC for Kentucky a basketball school is a demotion.
Suffering since 77
Relieved he's still a Jet. Hopefully this possibly losing coaches to other teams will be an unfortunate problem we'll have in the future. Means we're finally on the right track. UntouchableCrew
Looks like Kentucky hired 9ers QB coach Rich Scangarello who was Calabrese's former boss at Wagner and with the Broncos. Hopefully good news for us. EDIT: Clearly late the party, thought this was news today. Apologies for the bump.

Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app It is not about a relationship it is about being good at your job. Knapp was a very experienced and well respected coach and was a big loss to not only the QB but also the young rookie oc, hc and the whole team.

With Texas and OU going to the SEC, being OC in that conference is almost a NFL gig at this point anyways.
