Zach regressed big time today. A lot of situations where he left the pocket too early and ran into sacks and pressure.

It's extremely difficult to not be disappointed in Zach today after his 3 game improvement streak.  Glass half full:  Zach sux in the wind and rain.

This is true - there was some very catchable drops today - 4 of them, no running game and the conditions were terrible and lets not forget the injuries. But the offensive game plan was horrible. Zach has to take some deep shots in order to open up things underneath - This is a must! Cant wait until 24 seconds left in the game to start throwing the ball deep. Throw a few deep balls the very first series. Horrible play calling is not helping out Zach - but he did suck for 59min and 36 seconds.

Agree with you here

So you say the Jets only had 4 positive plays all day? Hmmm.  I must have been watching Garrett Wilson playing for another team today.

I stopped reading his diatribe after he wrote that.

Show KRL respect, because you're not worthy to eat his leftovers

You have to take some deep shots, if only to try to steal some cheap penalty yards. We saw it on his underthrow in OT.
At some point you have to just tell Garrett to go long

Considering how Wilson looked on the final drive of regulation
should Hackett go "no huddle, hurry up" to shake him out of his
ruts?

I've been saying this forever. I just don't understand why they don't do this to at least try and gas the defense.

I apologize but he really lost me when he said there were only 4 positive offensive plays. At that point I figured it was going to be another trash Wilson post. My bad.

In the worst game I've ever watched, I'm still trying to process what
exactly happened.  Did the Jets actually win 13-10 over the NYG in OT???
How???

(Stats From: https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401547498)

* They were playing their third string center (Xavier Newman) who was on
the practice squad two days ago

* The offense could only generate FOUR positive plays all game:
  - Breece Hall 50 yard TD
  - Garrett Wilson 29 yard catch on the final drive in regulation
  - Allen Lazard 29 yard catch to set up the game tying FG
  - Malik Taylor 30 yard pass interference penalty to set up the winning
    FG
Other than that they did nothing and couldn't pick up multiple 3rd & 1's
if their mothers lives depended on it.  But credit to the offense for
learning from the DEN game and hustling to the line to save one second
on the clock for the tying FG attempt

* The defense put up good "stats" but was totally undisciplined.  Committing
multiple personal fouls to extend the NYG only TD drive.  And allowing 200
yards on the ground when they HAD NO ABILITY TO PASS THE BALL.  Inexcusable

* Let's not forget the "brain fart" Michael Clemons committed when he jumped
offside on a punt and allowed the NYG a first down.  Which allowed them to
run an additional FIVE MINUTES off the clock (7:58 to 2:47)

* What's going on with all the injuries???  Losing Al Woods, Connor
McGovern and Wes Schweitzer in the span of a couple of plays was ridiculous.
And let's not forget Xavier Gipson gimping around for the majority of the
game after he got nicked up.  Is it the turf or was it the combo of the turf
and the rain?

I think I'm done dumping on the Jets for now, let's look at the multiple
"brain farts" the NYG committed which allowed the Jets to tie the game:

* On 4th & 1 Brian Daboll stupidly went for a risky FG with 28 seconds left
in regulation.  It was raining all day, the ball was slick and the possiblity
of a FG block (scoop & score) made the attempt stupid.  The Jets had no timeouts
left and Barkley was killing them on the ground, go for it and finish the game.
You know what happened after that

* Kayvon Thibodeaux had a great game, but by jumping offside on the 29 yard
catch by Garrett Wilson (in the middle of the field) it gave the Jets a
"free" timeout.  Those seconds that didn't tick off the clock cost them the
game

Special Teams

- Thomas Morstead was the MVP of the game hands down.  He punted 11 times for
a 48 yd avg, but more importantly he put FOUR inside the 10 yard line.  In
addition with the rain and a slick ball he gave Greg Zuerlein terrific holds
on the tying and winning FGs

- Greg Zuerlein was clutch again in poor conditions to tie and then win the
game (2/2 FG, 1/1 XP)

Defense

- My complaints about the performance of the defense were listed previously.
In terms of who the top "stat" performers were:

 * CJ Mosley - 12 Tackles, .5 Sack, PBU, QB Hit
 * Quincy Williams - 11 Tackles, 2 TFL, PBU
 * Tony Adams - 10 Tackles, TFL
 * Quinnen Williams - 8 Tackles, TFL, QB Hit
 * Jordan Whitehead - 8 Tackles, 2 TFL, PBU
 * Jermaine Johnson - 6 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 2 TFL, 4 QB Hits
 * Quinton Jefferson - 6 Tackles, .5 Sack, QB Hit
 * Bryce Huff - 5 Tackles, Sack, TFL, QB Hit

Offense

- As stated before the offense didn't exist except for four plays.
Is that from the usual ineptitude or did the shuffling of three
centers and two guards play a role?  No one has given me an OC
title or pays me seven figures to determine that.  But all I know
is they have to get some kind of stability on the OLine, this
constant shuffling can't help anybody.  Hopefully McGovern,
Schweitzer, Joe Tippmann and Duane Brown can be available so a
respectable five can line up

- Garrett Wilson is a special player (7 recs / 100 yards) fighting
off physical coverage and making tough catches all over the field

QB

- Zach Wilson regressed this game (17/36, 240 yards, TD) playing
behind a makeshift OLine could be used as an excuse.  But there
were too many times he held onto the ball too long and his decision
to take a sack on 4th down was ridiculous.  Wilson is trending the
wrong way after his KC performance, the Jets will not make the playoffs
if this continues

Now that all of my complaints are out of my system I must credit the
team for winning another game that the "Same Old Jets" would never
sniff.  A roster that shows toughness, resiliency and never giving up
shouldn't be ignored

Several drops by Lazard and a big drop by Hall that would have gone for 15+ yards...Yes, ZW taking a couple of those sacks were ridiculous.

W in the standings...

I like Daboll a lot but damn he is having a bad year. He made a big bet on Danny and it isn't working out.

A QB guy like Daboll seems to have helped Allen and Danny so much. But Allen has the moon as his upside. Danny not so much. So I thought they would let Danny walk and have someone else overpay him.

I am glad they didn't do that.

$82m fully guaranteed ! I think that’s more than our deal with 4x MVP Rodgers.

That one second felt like it hung on forever.  I think the MetLife clock operator is a Jet fan.

I usually torch the refs but credit to the one who hustled to the spot of the ball and

touched it so it could be snapped

The worst display of football in the history of the game?

Zach has no vision.  He has no sense of what's going on around him, can't read the defense, can't feel  pressure, has no touch / can't lead a receiver, and on and on and on.  He's incapable of making something out of nothing.   He's simply not an NFL QB.

Same observation every week, except this time it was on both sides of the ball.  3 hours of life wasted.

"diatribe"?   KRL's reviews are great and have been for over a decade.  They'll continue until you are long gone from here and no one remembers anything you posted.  Up to you when you make your exit.

Thanks @KRL for years of contribution.  Just ignore the dopes.

I will not stand for anymore Zach gaslighting. He’s not a NFL quarterback. He has some talent, he just had no idea what he’s doing.

That would definitely help but the Giants were also giving up the middle of the field on the last drive as the Jets had no timeouts.

Fantastic job by the entire offense getting the ball clocked:

and it was his first game at center I believe, incredible play from him here and truly wild win with this ref patting the ball to make it official, absolutely wild.  And that McDonald play was off the charts, like he was jumping the car again back on draft day video, unreal athleticism, so many convergence of factors on this one, 99.9% loss was wiped away.. amazing.

If we can steal another win or two here or there and Rodgers can make it back in Dec some time, maybe this year will be special after all, stranger things have happened, and this was just about the strangest game I've ever seen..

We won this game because the Giants are more inept then us....not because of anything we did.

Zach regressed but I expected it because Wink is great at the 2 things Zach struggles with....sending the blitz and disguising coverages....I think he bounces back against the Chargers (as long as the OL can come together after injury)

Can we win a game without sacrificing anyone to injury?!

This is an undisciplined team......some of those penalties were downright moronic.....all goes back to Bobby Salad and coaching.

How do you manage to give up 200 yards rushing to a team without a QB?! There was no threat of a pass...inexcusable to get gashed for that much. For as much as this coach likes to gloat about the defense they can't stop the run.

Daboll gifted us this game. Btwn Thibs penalty that granted us a clock stoppage when we ran out of TOs, and calling two swing passes to Barkley on 2nd and 3rd and long deep in his own territory in OT, he was very unserious about even trying to win this game.....

I'd rather talk about the negatives in a W and not the nasty L we we're about to take. Let's salvage what we can from this game and move on to the Chargers......
