Not sure Shefter thinks Mayo is still the favorite to land the job.

Mayo has been the favorite up here for a few years. However, nobody ever saw Vrabel being gift wrapped.

Agree that's why I was surprised that Shefter indicated this morning that Mayo was still the favorite.

I’m calling it right now the Patriots are going to trade into the first overall pick. Looks like Chicago is going to keep Fields. New England takes Williams, then the Redskins take Maye and Chicago still gets Marvin Harrison Jr.  plus a second rounder and probably a first rounder the year after and another mid round pick.

eh that's Schefty doing Kraft a favor by avoiding the tampering charges and Rooney rule guidelines...nothing more.

Vrabel will clearly be the new head coach for NEP

Bill Belichick is no longer the HC of the NEP.

And we stomped on his nuts on his way out the door

Where do we collect the prize????  Our SB is being under 500 again, but yes, we beat the Pats who now have a top pick for one of the three really good QB's.

Sounds like the recipe that Jets management has used for years.

Sept. 14, 2007: On ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike show, Mortensen reports the league might not close the book on the controversy and might continue to "review" it. Mortensen suggests that the videotaping of the Sept. 9 game against the Jets could be the tip of the iceberg, and that the Patriots' practices could include jamming the radio frequency in opponents' head-sets, and miking the Pats' defensive linemen to hear the offense's audibles and the cadence between the center and the quarterback. Mortensen also reports that Belichick has privately told Goodell he has been taping opponents' signals since he became the Pats' head coach in 2000.

Sept. 22, 2007: The AP reports that the NFL has received and destroyed all materials it requested from the New England Patriots concerning videotaping of opponents' sidelines, but discloses nothing about the contents. A league spokesman says the team is unlikely to face any further sanctions. Asked if there is evidence of the Patriots using the tactics in their Super Bowl wins, spokesman Greg Aiello declines to comment.

Nov. 15, 2007: Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., writes to Goodell, expressing concern about the league's destruction of tapes.

You make your own luck in life. Kraft reached out to Vrabel and told him to force his way out. Vrabel’s agent let ownership know who fired him instead of wasting time in a compensation war and lose traction on a replacement.

Could be.  Kraft did a similar thing when he reached out to bellichicken in 1999.

There was a lot of talk mid-season that Mayo had alienated some players and people in that building. Kraft is going to use him as a negotiating tool to keep Vrabel from asking the world, but it’d be a surprise if Kraft didn’t sweep out a lot of the Belichick infrastructure as soon as possible.

You're right. I am not allowed to get enjoyment out of anything unless we win the SuperBowl every year.

There is no way this happened. Tn. Is still on the hook for his whole contract if they fore him. Any idiot would tell Vrabel, you want out? quit.

I don’t understand all the Vrabel love , what has he done other than suck less than all the other Belichick disciples? Let them have him , one Brady left they were and will be just another team .

He won the division twice and made the playoffs 3 times in 6 seasons, including making it to the AFC championship game. They'd be building statues of him in Florham Park if he had that kind of success as a Jet HC.

Pats—->Vrabel

Belichick—->Commanders

Harbaugh—->Chargers

Belichick trades the second overall to Miami for Tua and a bushel of picks to put Caleb Williams in Miami, sticking it to Kraft hardcore.

While you are at where does Carroll end up?

How about winning 10 games????  Being competitive?? Not being the worst team in sports for the last 13 years, possibly 50.

Woody agrees with you however. You have that.

Last 2 years:

Mike Vrabel 13-21

Robert Saleh 14-20
