He is just wrong on his take here. Reddick has zero leverage in this situation and the D Line is still a really good group without him. Maybe JD took a shot and missed up to this point , but when Reddick starts to lose $850k per game the tide will turn. If it doesn’t, the Jets are still in a good situation with the player. He will then be a 30 year old pass rusher that sat out a year and under the same contract for the same team. The Aiyuk signing is telling, he took the same offer that he was offered in July, after holding out for an additional month, why? He knew he would have to still come back to the 49ers next season on the same original contract with even less leverage. I still can't believe that the Jets are entrusting their best chance in years to make a deep postseason run to Saleh. We have a very limited window (this year and maybe next if we're lucky), yet we're risking it all that this guy can figure it out?! I think we'll be at a disadvantage (in some cases, a big disadvantage) at HC in most, if not all, of our games against top opponents. Even crazier is that guys like Mike Vrabel and Pete Carroll (and Belichick, though I can't imagine that happening) are out there.
