It's satisfying watching wall street bozos sh*t their pants when a bunch of normal people decide to invest en masse and use a "free market" to their advantage.

Especially after watching some of those guys at the top treat our Economy like a casino which landed us in economic turmoil many times before. Example being 08 which wrecked the lives of millions.

This all Highlights a greater issue, and its fascinating to see it arise from redditors thinking it would be cool to invest in archaic companies.

And they wonder why people want to burn sh*t down.

Luckily, I caught a twitter alert right when it was announceded that RobinHood was pulling AMC etc. from the platform.  Sold my AMC pre-market at about $17/share for a nice little profit.  Last time I looked it was sub $10.

They really really try to **** over the little guy.

This tweet just about sums the whole situation up.

Never invested in my life, but I also bought a couple shares. Took my NY unemployment money from this week and sunk it into GME.

Someone tell me what to do next.

Ride the wave if you want, or just flip ASAP. Its not an investment strategy,  its a way to tell Hedge fund MF'ers to go to hell.

I am you.

"But what is Bitcoin?   It's not actually a thing?  That goes up in value.   But it isn't actually a thing?"

I am a fee only independent CFP and would tell you that 75 percent of all advisors are salesman who are in it for themselves.

Read John Bogles book "Common Sense on Mutual Funds".   or his book " Enough".

Both are outstanding.

If your FA doesn’t have some incentive in the game you need to find another one.

At 3:54 today I bought into the dip.  I took a few thousand out of a mutual fund and said let's have a little fun.  AMC and GME.  Immediately they started climbing.

That is the percentage increase after they stopped updating with the after hours trading.

I will watch it in the morning and don't plan on riding anything to the moon. If I can get 50% on a retail store that is going out of business with in 5 years, I will be happy and call it a day.  :)

It’s exactly what the league was worried about with him buying the team. He has more Skeletons in his closet than Dahmer

I don't know much about him. Skeletons as in dirty wall street stuff?

The Mets can't catch a break. GM has a scandal and now a rough week for the owner.

The guys on reddit have been talking about holding GME and AMC stocks until they increase greatly, with GME going in the thousands.

Sounds far fetched, but with the resolve these guys have had so far I wouldn't be shocked.

Im up $50 already.

Same, been hodling LTC for years and doing a bit of trading in XRP/XLM but got the tip last night from discord and chucked a few hundred on Doge. Big early gains but seems to be up and down now, hoping for another push today.

Bed Bath messed with the pillow guy and got the horns lol. This is entertaining. The emperor has no clothes, but we knew that already.

Fukk them and Target too.  But I don't see how anyone would invest in retail right now.  I own about 25K of walmart as they have a strong online presence and they do well in down markets.

That's fair.  FYI I just bought Vanguard growth fund index today.  The buy will be at the close today.  I do think we are likely to see a recession and earnings shrinking.   I also think the markets will be significantly higher 5 years out than they are today.  There are so many more middle class and highly educated people across the globe I just can't believe we will go backwards for very long.

I did the same .... Good to see others are thinking similar.... Now hopefully we are thinking correctly ?.

Totally agree. I looked into Tanger (SKT)  a while back @$24. They own a ton of factory outlet and regular plazas. They had a 98% occupancy rate and things were looking up. Paid a decent dividend too. We'll it was down to $6 in October before it's recent bounce back to $16 which still has me puzzled.

Agreed.  Having worked in Finance for a retailer that went bankrupt in 2018, there is no way that I am investing in Retail, although Wal-Mart is probably an exception.

I am not a day trader, have no interest in getting into that game.  I tend to invest long term (which has worked well for me over the past 30 years) and Retail is not a segment I want any part of right now.  There may be short-term profits to be made, but I am just going to sit on the sideline and watch as this drama plays out.

I tried buying it but couldn't on TD Ameritrade.

Ended up selling the GME and AMC that I bought yesterday.  I think I bought GME at $190 and sold for $313 this morning. AMC was at $8.83 and I sold it at $13.15.  Funny stuff.

Yeah he is a notorious inside trader, made a living on it, and rumors of all sorts of stuff you see in the movies
