Popular Post Maxman Posted March 1, 2021 Popular Post Share Posted March 1, 2021 Hi Everyone - we upgraded the software last week and we had a few threads of comments and feedback. We have incorporated all the feedback that we could and I wanted to start a new thread with some explanations. If you look on the top right you will see a moon icon. That lets you change the look and feel of the site to Dark Mode. Basically it is a black background and a lot of people were requesting that. If you are in that and you want to go back to the white background just click the light bulb and it will change back to white. We received a bunch of feedback saying the white was too white. So we made several changes with a darkened the background and we wrapped the content boxes in a white box with a faint border and shadow. Should make it easier to read now. Next to the dark mode icon up top (2nd from the right) you now have the ability to customize the layout of the site. I think these should be self explanatory, but feel free to click around and it will change the look and feel. Things like moving the sidebar from the right to the left. Let me know if there are specific questions, I would be happy to explain any of these further if needed. One other thing that I wanted to mention, and this isn't new, but if you click next to the Start New Topic button you can put the forums into "Fluid" mode. Everyone defaults to the current table view. But Fluid lets you select additional forums and see them all in one view. This is good it you want to see the NFL forum and Lounge (off topic). Or if you want to See NFL and Other Sports, etc. The mobile version has been revamped (updated responsive design). It has a new menu bar option in the footer. Anyhow, I hope you like it and let me know if there are any questions. I still have a few things on the to-do list so any new ideas are always welcome. Thanks! EDIT: I think the dark mode is going to need some tweaks, so I am curious to hear what everyone thinks (some of the dark colors blur out a bit). And I forgot on the main forum listing the go to first unread post icons have been changed to more traditional comment bubble options. This shows the threads you have posted in vs the ones you haven't. Let me know if there are questions there, thanks again! Edit # 2: Actually here is how the icons in the image above work. With topic icons, there are 4 different scenarios: 1. A "hollow" speech bubble signifies the topic contains new posts. 2. A "filled" speech bubble means you've participated in that topic. 3. A faded "filled" speech bubble means you've participated in that topic, but there are no new posts since you last viewed it. 4. I use a widesceen monitor and the dark mode doesn't work for me. I do think I will use it on my phone though. Not sure why but it seems to work for me well there. SAR I From the feedback you gave in the other thread we just updated mobile. I tested this out and it looks like you can miss, click a lot lower, and it still clicks on it. Let me know what you think. Added an invisible box around the "last post date" on the mobile homepage and topic list page.
