Thanks everyone for the continued thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. It means the world to us.  Lauren finished her 18 week treatment plan which was chemo every week and two hormone therapies every third week with the chemo. A bunch of side effects from the treatment but she battled through. At the end of the 18 weeks they did another set of scans. When you get the results you are always hoping to hear, no sign of cancer, it is a miracle. The reality though with Stage 4 is that wasn't very

@TeddEY I just wrote your birthday down of 6-12 and placed in my wallet. I'm getting you a birthday present man. You didn't have to make this kind gesture just like I don't have to get you anything special but I want to. This thread brought years to my eyes bro because my mom beat breast cancer and I know the emotional feelings that Max is feeling having to watch a loved one have to fight again. Actually I don't want to wait until your birthday. Even Christmas is too long for me. I wanna send it in time for opening day of Jets 2021 but if I tell you what it is you've gotta promise me to not rock it until 12:00 week 1 of regular season ight. I've never since a kid been good at keeping secrets I used to always tell my older sisters 1 gift they'd be receiving hah I'm giving you my Zach Thomas Dolphins jersey my grandma gave me (I kid) I'm getting you a LAVERANUES COLES JERSEY (white or green I can't say). Inbox me your PO Box or street address and what jersey size and hat size too gotta have a matching fit son (I promise I won't stalk you ?) and na I won't stop until you accept.

PS: If I were rich I'd buy everyone a gift but unfortunately I'm not but I believe in good Karma and believe in people bring celebrated over good gestures I'm so sick of the news shoving bad energy down our throats JN makes me feel proud to still be an American.

Man that's very kind of you.  I'm so glad all of our efforts (not just mine) have been so meaningful to you.  But, through a combination of good fortune and hard work, I've got everything I need in life and almost everything I want.  So, there's better things you can do with your money and this good feeling you're having.

I've got an idea!

If you do want to say thanks, here's what you can do for me.  Find a local food pantry near you.  Give them a call and see what they need.  Then, and here's the important part, BRING YOUR KID(S) WITH YOU, and go to your supermarket (Publix?) or Costco/BJs/Sams, and fill your car.  You could spend $87 in honor of Laverneous Coles with a dolphin!  But, most importantly, explain to your kid(s) what you're doing and why, and then take them with you to drop it off.

A jersey is a thoughtful gesture, but I'd love it if you took this feeling you're having and paid it forward in two ways.  First, by helping some people less fortunate, and second, by teaching your kids the importance/value of doing so.

My father was a retailer with stores in a couple local malls.  We'd spend most of Christmas season in the mall because that was the only way I'd see him between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.  Every year at the end of the season he'd give us some money to go to KB Toys and pick something out that we'd then go drop in a Toys for Tots (or equivalent) drop box that was by the big tree in the center of the mall.  I still remember doing that.  Give your kids that memory and lesson and consider me gifted in full.

When we went through this here in Charlotte, I was simply shocked when I walked in for the 1st radiation treatment.   Not me, my significant other.    The waiting room was FULL. Kids, moms, all races, all sizes. it’s eye opening that we break balls over the Jets but all over this world, life can hit you like a 2 by 4.  Kids, teenagers, with cancer.   As a guy, in my club, we have at least one guy a month diagnosed with prostate cancer.   the gals…. Breast cancer.   It’s eye opening how quickly this happens.

I have given Lauren an update on this and her jaw dropped. Thank you all so much, so much of your routine changes when a family deals with cancer treatment. I can not thank you all enough. This community has always meant the world to me. At times I know Lauren is like why is he always doing Jets stuff.  You gave me another gift because although I always try to explain how close everyone is here, you proved it. Thank You.

Chemo day on Monday. Once a week, this time it starts at 8am. Every 3rd week there are two additional hormone therapies given as well. Lauren's breast cancer has spread, so she now has a Stage 4 diagnosis. But the oncologist told us she believes there will be a good outcome here. Chemo runs weekly until October.

Lauren never complains. It is beating her up, and she is pretty sick some days with stomach issues. But she legit never complains. She battles. Quietly. Deals with everything one step at a time.

So thanks again for bringing a smile to our faces on days that we aren't smiling as much as we would like to.  God Bless you all. I love JetNation, this community is amazing.

We are in awe of what is happening here. Yesterday was chemo day and I was giving Lauren some updates on this thread. When I say she was speechless, I mean she was speechless. She smiled and was just like wow. Smiles are huge right now.

My daughter looked this thread up and said Dad this is incredible. You have all given me the street cred in my house that I have always longed for.  LOL.  All those hours in my basement talking to my "Jets Friends" and now everyone gets it. I mean that part, the power of this community has always been so inspiring. On a personal level, never more so than right now.

I promise you all this, we will never forget this. Being lifted up at your toughest moment is not something you forget. But what you have all done here is beyond anything I could have even ever dreamed of.

Chemo went well yesterday, Lauren's white blood cell counts have been low but she went to MSK three times last week to get some booster shots which worked. Next chemo was moved up to Saturday because we had previously planned a camping trip with a large family group. The first thing she said when she got the diagnosis is I am still going on that trip. We stay on the water near Rehoboth, really nice place. So she moved her chemo up so we could all still go.

Saturday will be a long day because there are two hormone therapies given as well (every 3rd week). I wouldn't blame her if she didn't want to move it up. Nope, she doesn't complain, doesn't do anything but quietly fight.

Seriously, we're all just happy to be able to add a small bit of comfort to Lauren, you and the rest of your family.  Reading what she's going through?  Dude, your wife is a friggin' rock star.  She has more strength and spirit than a hundred of us here.   Cheers.
