How good does it feel?

Never kick a man when he is down.... just sayin' not good karma.

He made it known, in no uncertain terms, he didn't give a f*** what any of us thought. Can hardly be called a "kick". He'd have to give a sh*t for it to be a kick. His performance leads me to believe he didn't give a sh*t.

I just binge-watched all four episodes of the One Jets Drive thing. Dismissing the propaganda elements, it does give me some hope that the Jets are finally being professionally run and coached, at the same time, by a group that can mature together. Time will tell if they are merely competitive or superlative, but they all seem to be on the same page and with a plan, so I am cautiously optimistic.

That certain activity has been called lots of different stuff, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it referred to as “cautiously optimistic”. You sure learn a lot in here as a foreigner.

Yeah, he got paid really well for failing. Pretty amazing honestly.

It's amazing how often you see this in the corporate world. Incompetent people that sort of know the secret political and interpersonal code and keep getting promoted despite having no leadership skills and being objectively bad at their jobs. Anyone that thinks that cliques go away after high school has never worked a corporate white collar job.

This relates to the Jets in that they have run the Jets as a corporation and hired their FO and coaching staffs as if they were executives in a corporate environment rather than hiring football people in a meritocracy.

I'd say Peter Principle, but I'm having trouble seeing where he had the success required to be promoted beyond his abilities.

He made plenty of dough pretending to be a head coach… he’s laughing his way to the bank..

dumb take. NFL head coaches work themselves to the bone at the expense of their health and family life. i can assure you Adam Gase is not "laughing his way to the bank", if he was that kind of person he wouldnt be in that position to start with.

that being said, it was time for a change. both sides acknowledged their failure and went their separate ways.

I'm still confused as to why anyone thought hiring this guy to mentor a young QB in NY was a good idea....oh yeah the offense guru thing the league is going in that direction.

Except even a completely casual look at his results would have suggested this is far from true. I have disliked some HC hirings right away, but I hated absolutely HATED the Gase hiring. He was literally my least preferred candidate.

Mac and Manish are gone.  He deserves some credit on that front.

yep.  if no gase then maybe mac is still gm and he will get to pick his coach.  for all of gase's faults the one thing he did do was put a spotlight on the lack of talent the team had and now it looks like they're finally getting in a good position to compete.

Very, very well said.

Guess you took what I wrote as gospel, at least we can all agree, he was a failure…the gm’s didn’t help…

Well, his introductory press conference didn't make me question whether or not he was on hallucinogens, so he's got that going for him.

It’s bad enough that Gase set a standard so low.  The fans shouldn’t follow suit.

Saleh better be better than Gase.  That means not opening the first month with a losing record.  That means ending the season with more than 7 wins.

So glad this loser is gone. He made me do the one thing I never thought I'd do...root against the Jets.

Still baffles me hows this anti social, blatant LOSER landed multiple head coaching gigs in the NFL

Yup same here. Only time I've ever rooted against my own team were meaningless week 17 games for draft position.

But last year was an All-Time low for me. I sucked off Trevor Lawrence due to no hope and rooted for a full blown tank starting week 6 @ 0-5.

And then out of 0-13 frustration I wanted to literally cry when we beat the Rams when I should've been celebrating not going 0-16 but being so numb to Adam Gase tears couldn't even come down but I never thought a win could make a fan sad but going 1-13 made me not want to even really post anymore.

I made a promise to myself I'll never do that again it was miserable for me being more of a Clemson TL fan than my Jets.

He turned a once childhood born homer "stats" into a grown man negative tanker.

All is good again. All is well. And all is finally normal for me again; because Coach Robert Saleh has already turned me into my old former homer again where I can 2009-2010 dream big again.

(for that alone Saleh is already my #1 All-Time Jets coach without yet even calling a single play because he's brought me back to Jets Life instead of Adam Gase misery because I was on the verge of quitting Football).

I'm being serious when I say this. I've had some family members and childhood friends turn to a life of drugs. But never once growing up throughout my childhood did I ever witness someone's eyes that looked like, THAT. Not never.

I don't know which specific drug he was on but it was something serious and something hardcore.

I was so curious wtf he was on that I went back and watched his Miami presser where he looked like a normal person and also like 2-3 Miami interviews and he always looked 100%, normal.

But @ our presser?

Poor Maccagnan. He hired him but just look at Macc's facial expressions. He realized right then and there he made a mistake hiring that man.

Are there any professional drug specialists or maybe former law enforcement officers who can explain to me, what Adam Gase was on?

Because something wasn't right. And he should've immediately received some type of help from our Jets Origination. He shouldn't of been allowed to ever coach after showing up to his presser looking like that...

Four-year deal worth $20 million.  Of which he actually worked only two years, producing a 9-23 record.

2 year of work (for ~8 months each year), for $20 million dollars?

I'm not crying any tears for that nutbar.  Many of us have been "working ourselves to the bone", "at the expense of our health and family life" and no one is giving us $20 million, including half of that as payment for staying away and not working.

He gets no pity here.

Go defend Gase on whatever High School forum he is currently O'Co'ing for.  He was a disaster, the worst Coach in my lifetime.  F' him sideways.

Don’t get how anyone can defend Gase. If you want to feel badly for former Jets HC how about Bowles? Saddled with the worse GM/QB combo in the NFL and has now proved beyond any doubt that he is an excellent coordinator.

He will get another shot as an NFL HC and probably succeed. Another former Jets HC going on to do well elsewhere.

defend? pity? ok...you are projecting....i never said anything to do either. clearly he failed, maccagnon failed, the jets failed us above all else.

your childish hostility towards him is pretty funny though....

Being an excellent coordinator doesnt make someone an excellent or even a good HC.

That has been proven over and over again

This is true but it gets you interviews and you need those to get the job
