I am concerned, but can we at least give him more than a week and a half of practice before we bench him.

My understanding from all the gurus is that it has something to do with pads. Half the post this training camp have been about pads. It’s the latest thing Jets fans are worried about.

What is Saleh supposed to say? He’s not going to toss Wilson under the boss. Nobody knows what he’s thinking behind closed doors.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath, both the posters who thought Zach was going to come in and light things up day one and those thinking he’s going to bust.

Once we saw the Jets weren’t bringing in a Foles-type QB, everyone should’ve realized this season wasn’t about contending. If it was, they’d have brought in someone who, even if Zach started day one, would be able to come in and possibly win a game if he got hurt, or needed a mental break at some point to gather himself. I’m not even bringing up the mentoring aspect of having a vet in the room with him.

This year is all about developing him and the other young kids on this team, getting acclimated to the new CS, and letting that CS work together and grow also.

I chose 5 wins in the thread poll last week, and I did that knowing we had a 9th home game along with another at a neutral site.

All I’m looking for is this team to look a lot better in the last half of the year than they do in the first.

Fixed it for you.  People on this board are willing to give Fitztragic a pass despite 15 years of sucking because he gave them a thrill for a few weeks in 2015, but Wilson is a bust after he struggled for few series on a Saturday night intra-scrimmage in early August.

I don’t remember who shared that Mahomes article about him really struggling in his first camp but I think it offers great perspective on limiting expectations on Zach for now. I wish he had a year to sit behind a guy like Alex smith but he seems like the mature type who can learn from his mistakes without getting demoralized, so he has my patience. 

Becton, Carter, Moore, Mims, Wilson, AVT, Johnson, Perine. All these guys are having their first “real” training camps in the NFL and are 23 or younger. Coleman, Davis, Cole, Moses, and Kroft are all in their first year with us.

It’s hard to single out Wilson for his performance as this point, given the circumstances I think we have to be patient and wait for the whole offense to find synchronization. It might be the 2nd preseason game or week 8.. the only thing i’m looking for is steady progression.

And nobody outside the Jets team knows what they were trying to do on the 14 passes Wilson threw today and whether he missed his reads, made mistakes, or the receivers ran the wrong routes or........anything that requires context!.
