Tampa was 2nd overall in scoring offense last season and dropped to 25th this year.

More to the point, Leftwich is to blame for being the 25th scoring offense but no credit when they were 2nd?
injuries to the OL, drop in the running game and by Brady is his fault too?

Running the worst back in the league on 1st and 10 every possession until you’re forced to throw in the 4th qtr, yes.

I mean, he didnt...just looking at the splits, that's an extreme exaggeration.  Brady attempted the most passes in his career and the most per game in the NFL.  He was also calling plays for a HC that believes that running game will return to the NFL and that passing is overrated and once made Stevan Ridley the focus of his offense on a win and in game.

Arians leaving was a huge loss for the Bucs. Coaching in fact matters.

Bowles is a bigger issue for sure.

Arians did his best to support and elevate his friends and mentees, Bowles and Leftwich.

Unfortunately, he could not work forever.  He tried his best.

Bowles will be a good DC anywhere.   Leftwich needs to reboot.

Did Leftwich fail Brady? I think it was the other way around. Brady was terrible this season

no he wasnt. maybe he wasnt HOF TB12 but he was far from terrible.

funny how some people here are kissing Daniel Jones ass for comp 67% and throwing 15 TDs and 5 INTs, but Brady had a terrible year for 66% 25 TDs 9 INTs.

I like Leftwich but Arians was the OC.  Arians is one of the great offensive minds in the NFL.  He took Leftwich under his wing.  I think Leftwitch has potential but I would like to see him install an O and be successful calling plays without Brady or Arians before I would hand him the keys to the Jets O.

Brady effectively deep sixed the bucs, for all purposes he was retiring because he did not like arians actually taking him to task and telling him when he was playing sh*tty. He comes back after arians steps down and is happy at the bowles country club taking 2 weeks plus off in training camp.  Their season is a disaster.

Look behind the numbers and do a little analysis please.  Brady threw 732 passes while Jones threw 472.  If Jones threw 732 passes, he would have thrown for 5000 yards and 24 TDs.  Brady threw to Godwin and Evans, two (!) Pro Bowl receivers, plus Gage as a #3 (who caught 67 passes for 800 yards with Atlanta in 2021).  Jones threw to a bunch of nobodys.  Brady had somewhat gaudy numbers because of the massive number of attempts, but his YPA was terrible.  Brady was bad this season. His arm strength was noticeably weaker, his accuracy was off, and he can't move.  You can't analyze pro football by looking at  basic stats.  The sport is much more complex and nuanced than that. Brady is done. He's cooked.  He's an old man hanging on for his ego and is now just like all the other QBs who hung around a year or two too long. If the Jets sign him, it will be a disaster from a PR and a performance standpoint. Let's get someone 15-20 years younger who is not the most hated Jets opponent ever.

He was just interviewing for HC positions last year

That move has to be political... sure, Byron wasn't perfect, and couldn't establish the run -- but this feels short-sighted. I think there's long term potential there... who knows what pressured-expectations were placed on him this year--

Brady was 3rd overall in DYAR and 8th in DVOA.
