The last vestige of the myth of our top defense may be exposed on Prime Thursday

Our streak of not allowing a passer to throw for 300 yds (31 games)

May be put to rest by Ancient Joe Flacco and even kids  insists he sucks.

Hacketts brilliant coaching staff concluded concussed  Wilson, Peter Boyle

and some Simian fella would make a better back up to Jolly Rodgers

Flacco won’t throw for 150.

The Browns defense is going to tee off on the Jets offense. The jets defense will be out there for 45 minutes.

the highly esteemed brilliant posters here will point out the statistics of the Browns offense and pat themselves on the back

I’ll be amused

A lot of that streak has to do with this teams offensive woes. There aren’t too many instances where teams need to be aggressive heading into the second half. Most of the time, we’re either in a low scoring defensive struggle where teams choose to play conservative or they are protecting a lead and trying to keep the clock running. The defense is solid, but it’s probably closer to a top 10-12 defense if the offense wasn’t so poor.

Jet fans are desperate. They overrate anything good about their team in order to give themselves something to hang their hat on.

Our D is good, not great.

You say Jets fans are desperate, who are you a fan of?

Hackett brilliant coaching staff couldn’t play Flacco because he wasn’t on the team.

I’m an idiot?
I chose this stupid team when they drafted Namath almost 60 years ago. I wish iwas the type of fan who could switch to a better team… it would be so much fun rooting for a winner like the 49ers but I just can’t do it.

He was the best QB we have had since Zach had been here and even him was. It used well.

Cleveland literally built the offense specifically tailored for him. While we just kind of asked him to run the system.

Be interested to see this game.

I won’t be shocked if the Jets beat the Browns and then the Pats to finish 8-9.

Thats the maximum pain: worst possible draft pick slot, and the knowledge this WAS a playoff team if not for horrid QB play all year.

Maximum pain should always be the expectation with this franchise.

Citing games where the team is playing great defense for why the the team doesn’t have a top defense doesn’t seem like the best approach.

At least in that case we could go into the off season a bit more optimistic about 2024.

We started at the same time, I also became a fan when they drafted Namath. I guess that makes us 2 idiots and counting.

You can't expect our defense to be awesome elite with that offense!
Just wait till we get up by a couple of scores and then we can pin our ears back and will get 10 sacks and close out games! Our D is built to close games!

They had a big lead this weekend and gave up 3 td’s although one was a short field after Simien pick

My favorite iteration of this type of topic was the thread talking about the horrid attendance at the Falcons Panthers game.  Multiple pages of Jets fans chiming in trying to argue “why we are actually the worst, not the Panthers.”

Not really. Would be akin to the year Darnolds Jets went 6-2 late, in trash time after going like 1-7 to start the year. Sorta meaningless to gauge the future.

Maybe it’s me man, but after pretty much 50 + years of the same none sense  I’m pretty sure the future is highly predictable and gauging it is simply repeating it . Like,” oh yeah, this shit again!”

Why so negative? No love in your life? The jets have a solid defense and the stats prove that. Worry about the o
