Advisors advise.

GMs pick.

Joe D. made the pick and blew it.

Now he's gotta' find a way to add more picks because picking at 10 and 72 isn't ginna cut it.

You say that like they just don’t listen to each other lol. There’s a purpose of having an advisor or whatever you wanna call em.

No, that's not how I'm saying it.  That's how you're interpreting it.

That pick is on Joe Ds fat ass and his alone. Hogan sucked too but JD is a weasel

As I have said before, not being fired from this mess is the punishment.  Being fired is being paid to be let out of your misery.

Woody needs scapegoats, and Saleh’s and JD’s reputation are going to be further damaged by having to take this ship to the bottom of the sea, with Lts. Carter and Downing.  Ulbrich and Boyer make out ok.

The people that wanted to stick with darnold and make a pick or trade down were eviscerated on here at the time because the masses hated Darnold.

Trade down was correct but they still should have traded Darnold and got a vet for 1 year.

The prevailing and oft-repeated story is that Douglas was infatuated with Wilson since mid-season the year prior, when it was clear that they were going to finish in the top five. This was a Pauline scoop, iirc. It has also been rumored that LaFleur enthusiastically signed off on him during the scouting process. It was similarly rumored that Saleh was not entirely on board with drafting Zach Wilson.

As for Rex Hogan, this also seems unlikely considering his previous actions as a personnel man. With the Bears, he traded for Jay Cutler. In two seasons with the Colts, he (as director of pro player personnel) signed Jacoby Brissett as a bridge QB when Luck went down. This doesn’t seem like a dude who wasn’t aware of the value of a solid veteran QB.

Keep and pick

Keep and Trade down.

Trade Darnold and keep or trade the pick were all viable options.

The Jets took what was behind door #4, a Yugo

Almost anything including a non-premium position at pick 2, would have been better. It was literally the worst outcome and shows lack of situational awareness from a team building standpoint. A smart GM and coach would wait to draft the elusive rookie franchise QB to extend their time with a team rather than start the clock on their jobs early.

I guess they just knew how dumb Woody was and honestly didn’t care. They could have gone vet for a year or 2 while “rebuilding” and then getting the rookie QB. Saleh should have at least milked 5 years out of this situation and JD 7 but they are literally that bad.

That is certainly not how he acted on draft day with his whole 'We are going to lift you up you do not have to lift us up' speech.

They are all responsible and were all to some extent on board.

Now they are scattering like rats trying to save their hides.

Of course he’s going to spew his slogans on draft day, it’s what he does. But there was always noise that there was disagreement on the Zach pick and I don’t buy for one second that Douglas wasn’t all in on Zach Wilson.

Comical that they are trying to throw Rex Hogan under the bus for Douglas drafting an epic bust.

Well it is for sure on Douglas above anyone else, he makes the final call.   None of them get a pass though.
