Very early, very non-concrete nugget: the Jets have had talks about moving to Queens.

Would seem like Woody just posturing and trying to negotiate a better deal.  With their training facility in FP, i cant see them building a training facility back on the island or Westchester.  So if the training facilities stay in FP and then its the reverse commute to Queens just for the games?   Not impossible but seems soooooo unlikely

They did it for years except in reverse, lived and practiced on the island and commuted to swampland to play. Not the greatest arrangement but has been done.

Sheldon Silver is dead 🤲 Let’s relocate his remains to the east end zone and get Namath Arena built, baby.

Speaking of, how would the Jets and Giants divvy up Jimmy Hoffa's remains if the Jets move to Queens?  That could be a major sticking point in negotiations.

I’m not going to go into details about who what where and when and why because of obvious reasons, but I received a very awesome non-draft tidbit last night regarding the Jets future in New Jersey:
It’s incredibly early, but there have been preliminary talks re: moving the Jets to Queens.  Steve Cohen and the NYCFC are heavily involved.  The stadium they are building without the Jets being involved would be around 1.5 billion.  You’re probably looking at 3 billion with the Jets partnered in.
I wouldn’t lose any sh*t about it yet, but the Jets are sick tired of dealing with the Maras.  Say what you will about Johnson, but the guy basically wants everything that the players (as well as the fans) have asked for, which is a grass field and retractable roof.  Every single proposal gets shot down by the Giants side of things.  My gut feeling/sense is that another reason they have engaged in the aforementioned talks is to use it as leverage to get what they want from NJ and the Maras in terms of upgrades.  I think they’ll (NYG and NJSEA) cave; but this is certainly something to monitor as next year is the deadline for the Jets to get out.

They would have to give their notice they are leaving this year. This isn’t happening.

Sounds like fantasy land, as great as it would be.

Have we forgotten that Queens was the borough that stopped the building of the massive Amazon HQ?

Add in the poor financial situation the city in and all their expenses (ie the ballooning payment for the illegal migrants), there's no chance of this happening.

It seems to me if some cheesy soccer club can build a stadium in queens then why can’t the jets?  I know Gillette stadium is used for soccer and obviously the patsies so it stands to reason a dual use stadium could be built for both sports.  A roof would be great too.  I can see it being hideously expensive like most projects in the nyc region but it could be a good draw to the queens.  And it would ( or at least should) be far easier to get to that the current stadium.

It can't look worse than the air conditioner they currently play in.

Anyone know when our 50/50 lease with the Giants ends, or when we can get out of it to build our own digs?

I wonder if seat licenses will transfer, or if they'll just charge new seat licenses?

They own and operate 50% of the stadium, only the land is leased.

Sharing a stadium is idiotic never should’ve done it in the first place

Otoh, a football stadium costs over a billion dollars (maybe several billion) for only 8-9 regular season home games, and maybe 2 preseason and up to 2 post-season games.  Is it really worth it?
