joewilly12
http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2014/09/watch_mike_francesa_screams_at_caller_about_jets_struggling_offense.html The answer, Mike Francesa, is no, the Jets aren't moving the ball. As you'll see from the video above, the Jets offense is so bad, it's forced the WFAN host to scream at callers (Vine via FOX Sports' Jimmy Traina, and trust us when we say you should turn your volume down). It was part of a Monday spent ripping the Jets after their Week 4 loss to the Lions. "The Jets, from their head coach through their general manager through the organization, are lost," he said to start his drive-time show. "It’s typical, because all they do is say the same things. ‘We just have to clean this up.’ How long are they gonna be cleaning this up? ‘We just gotta clean up the mistakes. We’re better than these other teams.’ No, you’re not. If you think you’re better than those Lion players, you’re out of your mind.” Here's what else Francesa had to say: "If you’re Rex Ryan, you can’t be happy about what’s going on with your quarterback, a position that he is usually completely disengaged from anyway. And you can’t be happy about the fact that, in a year where you were asked to win -- or have your career be at a crossroads with the Jets -- that your general manager decided not to spend any money! And give you a cornerback situation that’s dreadful!"

dbatesman
Francesa is a moron. The Jets suck at scouting, drafting, coaching, and playing football and the entire team is a flaming pile of dogsh*t, organizationally speaking. He's right only insofar as he's able to point out problems that are clear as day to anyone paying even a modicum of attention.

Bleedin Green
Francessa is usually right, or close to right, which is why he pisses off Jets fans so much. That's probably true for some folks, but there's also plenty of other quite legitimate reasons to find him intolerable. Forget his views on the Jets, I simply can't understand how anyone can tolerate listening to him speak about anything... ever.

#27TheDominator
Yeah, which makes him right. Which is why it pisses off the people that complain about him. Everyone else (see: anyone paying even a modicum of attention) knows and shrugs it off. Actually, it is just something he says every year. Some years he is right and some years he is wrong. It doesn't make him usually right or close to right. It makes him a stopped clock.
ebonix
The Jets could have had Ryan Fitzpatrick, then the world would have been beautiful. Honestly, Rex is a coordinator, and that is all. Yes, I heard the Francesa show. Thought he was pretty honest about the Jets. After all, Rex is under .500 winning percentage for his last 50 games. The early success in 2009 and 10 was really with the leftover Mangini era players who were more disciplined and tougher. I think Idzik will clean house and start over with a new coach and new QB , ( could even start Vick until new 1st round rookie is ready.) BTW.... Idzik needs to do better with the next draft-- this one 's not looking so good. only 5 of 12 picks are still with team.! Saunders was one of three wide receivers that the Jets drafted in May, but none of them are on the roster right now. Fourth-rounder Shaq Evans is out for the year after having shoulder surgery and sixth-rounder Quincy Enunwa is on the practice squad, which is exactly what the Jets didn’t need from three rookies at one of the weakest positions on their roster. The failure to draft and develop wide receivers has been a problem for the Jets for more than a decade as only Jeremy Kerley (2011) and Jerricho Cotchery (2004) have become productive players for the Jets since they drafted Santana Moss in the first round of the 2001 draft. General Manager John Idzik has only been responsible for the last two years of futility, but changing it would be a good way for him to quiet grumblings of discontent about his job performance. GenoandtheJets
Yes Fatso Francesa is right. Unfortunately the most obnoxious radio host on WFan besides Craig Carton is right. I don't appreciate Francesca's opinion at all but he is right about the Jets right now. Spot on with his opinion. The Jets are Lost! Back Afta This! Cyberjet
This is just cods wallop. As someone pointed out he says this every year. I don't care what people say - Idzik knows what he is doing - he has a plan. It always amazes me that people go on that you can't judge a draft until year 3, except if it's Idzick. Strong GMs cut bait on their dead wood draft picks and don't let pride get in the way except if it's Idzick. Yes the Jets have cap space - this is good - you just don't go spending $$ just because you have it - plus it's not like the Jets or any team for that matter have 1st dibs on every free agent.
