How many of you do NOT want a QB at #3?

I'm comfortable and would be happy with either (in order of preference) Rosen, Darnold or Mayfield at #3. I know they all have some warts and aren't perfect but I'm all in for a QB at #3.

I just saw Mora on NFLN last night and he clarified his earlier comments on Rosen. He's the one who impressed me the most in the games I watched. Saw someone this morning say that, even with Mayfield's off-field and on field issues/antics, many teams love him and want him to lead their franchise. Yeah, his height concerns me and the "Big 12 bust" factor is a possibility, but he was the 2nd best QB I watched. I assumed the lack of draft hype during the season was height related. The only one that scares me is Allen.

I know everyone has their own feelings about the QBs and may only like 1 or 2 of them...or maybe none.

Just wondering how many fans out there at this point (T-minus 2 days) want the Jets to either trade down or pick another position should their favorite QB(s) come off the board at #1 and/or #2?

I want a QB.

I am not sure this crop of QB's has one I'd invest in at the #3 pick.  The risks of one and all are...material.

I also do not trust Macc or Bowles judgment on QB's.

Buit I do want a QB at #3.  I have vague hope it's Mayfield, but I'm not strong for or against any of them really.

I could accept Saquan Barkley at #3 as a "we don't believe in these QB's" decision, if they really felt that way, with a QB picked later (if we still had 2nd rounders....).

What would make me break my computer is if we are drafting Chubb, the defender, at #3.  That would be the end of me I think.

I'm sure there are a handful of people who would have been happy not to take a QB at 6. Anybody who's happy trading away three 2nd round picks to move up for a non-QB should committed to an asylum.

I'll assume for arguments sake that those folks would prefer we trade back down and get some picks back and draft a QB other than 1 of the top 4

Seriously.

No No, we're totally happy with McCown and broken Teddy, no need for a talented QB!

Oh, I’m sure there are at least a handful of goofs out there who think Teddy can regain his magical 14 TD form and be the longterm answer.

Taking Barkley with no second round picks is tantamount to job security suicide. If McCown looks like Fitzpatrick in his second year Mac and Bowles are both goners. While I don't like Bowles, I don't think Mac wants to go out with a stain like passing on a franchise QB on his resume.

Macc's job security isn't what I root for as a Jets fan.

Is it what you root for?

McCown is a horrible, worst-in-NFL level of starting QB.  He's also the starting QB of this team in 2018, and I don't see that changing too quick with Bowles at the Helm.  People who presume a QB at #3 means we're starting that QB are, IMO, being overly optimistic.

I don't think he will pass on a QB either.  I simply lack any faith that he'll pick (or potentially even have available to pick) the "right one".

If we stayed at 6 and darnold, mayfield, Rosen were all gone I’d be ok with either Chubb, Barkley or even Nelson. Factoring in we still get 3 very good young players also with 2nd round picks this yr and next.

But at 3 obviously we can get 1 of those 3. I’m curious though if Mac only really likes 2 of those 3. What would he do if they were both gone? Sell the pick for more than we traded it for ? Pick Barkley or Chubb ? Not saying what I would do, but I wouldn’t put it past “ best value” Big Mac

I say we trade down for three third round picks. Keep em guessing.

I would be ok if the Jets didn't select a QB if the Falcons sent us Matt Ryan and picks in exchange for our 3rd pick. I'd also like to win the lottery and have sex with Scarlett Johansson.

Are these 2 separate things or just 1 thing?

Maccagnan would be fired on the spot escorted out of the building by jets security immediately after the pick if he took a non QB or traded down unless he got multiple 1st rounders to do so.

If Darnold and Rosen are not available, I could be happy about trading down and getting multiple picks.

3 seems high for Mayfield and Allen.

To take a RB or EDGE and not have other picks (to take, for example, a Lauletta in the second), that would be really bad.

or given a 5 year extension as the NYJ seem to reward failure like no one else

With the trade up, I think the Jets may have boxed themselves into drafting a QB . The question I would asked is will said QB effect the team this year and long term (say 5 years)better than another player at a different premium position . Everyone wants a franchise QB and is geared up to take 1. Does anyone want someone at the position who will lead the offense and by extension the team ?

I hope he regains his ability to play because I have deep concerns about the coaching staff's ability to coach up a rookie QB.
