Come on dude not even a modicum of success? Have you looked up his history in any way? What is a quarterback coach? An offensive coordinator? Tim Tebow in the playoffs? Peyton Manning in the playoffs? The best quarterback stats in a season ever with Manning in Denver? Jay Cutler's best season as a professional ever with the Bears? How can you possibly say he hasn't been successful? He beat the Jets five out of six times didn't he? Oh yeah and he had Miami in the playoffs his first year

hmmm.....beating the previous Jets regime is not an overwhelming accomplishment and Bowles should have had the Jets in the playoffs in '15.

Our Owner won't fire the GM that went 14-34 the last 3 seasons.

The Owner and GM based the HC hire on the DC, whose track record suggests he'll only be here 2-3 years.

The HC can't fire the DC without the Owner and GM's approval.

Should the GM get fired prior to the HC, it will be nearly impossible to find a significant upgrade at GM, since that GM won't be able to pick his own HC.

None of this makes me happy.

I just don't get it SMH! Didn't we just hear for the last four years, how Todd Bowles crappy friend Kacy Rogers completely sucked as a DC? Didn't our offensive coordinators get fired three out of the last four seasons? I don't understand the criticism and lambasting of the owner and GM, trying make sure we are not in that situation this time around? Apparently they were ready to fire Todd Bowles during the bye week but there was nobody on the coaching staff capable of being an interim head coach correct? So why wouldn't they dot Their I's and cross their T's? I don't know if it's the media or the fans or whatever but it seems like everyone just wants to find something to critique and complain about. I for one was all in on Gase and Williams from the get-go and never wanted McCarthy. This team is going to kick major ass imo..

So yeah Again WHAT WOULD MAKE US HAPPY?  Go ahead tell us:

What would make me happy?

A stable, competent organization that doesn't make a laughing stock out of itself every time I turn around.

An organization that players actually want to play for and are proud to do so. That in a nutshell is what I want as a Jet Fan. Do that and the rest will take care of itself.

A competitive football team that isn’t an embarrassment?

And here's what you dont understand, we dont even expect you to be good!  We just want you to be watchable!

Do you have any idea how low our expectations are?

We dont expect you to win the Super Bowl, we just expect you to look better than a division 3 high school team!

Huh?  How is this possible?  Gase was barely mentioned until later in the process, and Williams wasn't really mentioned at all until after Gase was hired.  So you were a Gase/Williams guys from the very start of the offseason?

It's cool if you liked the end result, but don't pretend retroactively that you had been ahead of the curve on who the new Jet coaches should be.

Good call out.

It’s really not that complicated. Gregg Williams is a better coach than Kacy Rodgers and though his rankings are varied, he basically knows what he is doing and at least he has a competent vision for what he wants the defense to do.

Regardless of who you wanted more as head coach, Gase will do a better job in all likelihood than Bates/Bowles could do.

So on the face they upgraded.

Here are the issues that most people have problems with including myself. Jamming a staff on a head coach creates the potential for a lot of trust issues and problems. It isn’t guaranteed to happen, but you are creating a source of friction and delegating responsibilities on people that the head coach didn’t personally pick themselves. While the fans see this interaction one day a week, the coaches spend quite a bit of time together and mistrust or miscommunication can create a lot of conflict.

The organizational chart puts the honus of decisionmaking on the owners, who are quite clearly out of their element. They have double downed essentially and decided hey, though Bowles and Mac had clear friction, let’s basically do the same thing to the new head coach and his staff.

Meanwhile Gase says he’s fine with it, but for a dude who seems really high strung, i bet he’d make a lot of concessions to make sure he can head coach again right away even if he doesn’t love the arrangement.

The only hope is that Joe Douglas sees this enormous problem and demands restructure even if it takes squeezing a Johnson's throat really tight for an extended period of time.

Just the grumpy, negative, bitter @$$e$ that constantly crap on the NY jets yet state they are "fans."

Wow.  Did you just wish death upon a large group of people?  This is kind of sick, man.

surprised you gave me the opportunity to state the obvious..  getting the best defensive player, best offensive player, and best slot WR available, and a big upgrade at nickle is going to town on FA..  Even you malcontents are recognizing Cashman looks like a steal and Q will come back and play well.  If Chuma, Wesco, and Austin turn into players it will have been a great draft.

At least you can hang your hat on Polite.

Whoa!  There's a lot of If's, hopes and dreams in that post.

Cashman looks good and could be one of the few guys taken later than Round 4 in recent years who actually turns into a starter.

As far as I can tell....that's it for the entire Draft so far.  We haven't seen QW, one guy has already been cut, and the other three rarely or never see the field.

To recap - We've seen one guy out of the ENTIRE draft on the field routinely.  How can the idea of this Draft being "great" even be hypothesized at this point?
