A lot of what we are seeing from Darnold is who he is when the team is down and he's getting no protection he tries to make anything happen... It's who he was in college. it's who he will always be, Problem is without a real OL he will play that way on every play and not once and awhile. If this was Brett Favre behind this OL the same thing would be happening. Build to OL and lets see what Sam does with a vastly improved OL. if he still sucks well guess what we get another shot at a Frnchise QB with the OL built in for that guy already. Drafting another QB next year would be a huge mistake and that is not because I think Darnold is the guy. I don't know if they'd be able to take him though if they got the pick. The Jets will not end up with the #1 overall pick, and they certainly will not be drafting a QB when they have Sam Darnold. Their schedule is just too weak compared to other winless or 1 win teams and I think its obvious to everyone with two eyes that the offensive line is the issue, not Darnold. If they do end up with a top 5 pick, they are going with Chase Young or Andrew Thomas. If both are gone, they are trading down. Pick up every top pick they they can. This team needs everything. If Darnold bottoms out? I do think you need to consider taking a QB. Trade the pick for a haul and draft an offensive line (center, LT, RG at a minimum).Trade Adams for a first and get the edge rusher we're lacking. Instant improvement.
