Sounds like Russell Wilson’s camp is going scorched earth.

Actually, your numbers support my point.  Mahomes and Wilson were on their rookie contracts when they won the SB.  Foles is the "journeyman type.  The "star" QBs are Manning and Brady.

My statement was that going the star route hasn't worked that well.  So, Brady won 4 and he was not a 1st round pick.  Manning once and 3 were won by rookie contracts and a journeyman.

You might want to think about those numbers when you want to bring in a Watson or Wilson with their big contracts.

And you might want to consider that eventually, all high end QBs get paid.  This implied plan to build around QBs on rookie deals and then let them go does not and will not work.

Being a perennial contender requires a team to one day pay a QB a sh*t ton of money.  Period.

Wilson’s contract wasn’t the reason they traded two firsts, both of which could have been used to repair a crappy OL.

Btw Brandon Shell the JAG RT forcing Wilson to demand a trade.  And I thought that wasn’t a “premium position”?

good thing Jamal didn't sign a extension yet. hes a FA at the end of the year. after that he will go home to Dallas

Rock and a hard place for Seattle.  Re-sign him, and they're overpaying the most overrated player in the NFL at a position of no importance.  Franchise him, and they deal with Adams hissy fits for an extra year, and he might even try to pull a Le'Veon.  Let him walk as a FA, and they just paid two 1sts and a 3rd for 2 years of sh*tty SS play.

Or they could  consider the franchize tag. Buy's Seattle a year to see how he plays before committing top $ to him. Either way they are screwed.

I mentioned the problem with that thought.

Sure. But what standard do you use in deciding who to extend and who to let walk.

If the market sets QB comp too high, the quality of the QB has to be high as well. Otherwise, the roster suffers and the team plays poorly.

The Goff trade is my example. They paid to get him off their books. They would have been better off letting him walk than extending him.

And neither Watson nor Wilson are a Goff.  They are both elite QB's.  One just entering his prime, one who is still in it.

Dreams are good.  But neither is coming to the Jets.  But you have 60 days or so to enjoy it.

Seriously I will never understand the logic of some on this forum, bash literal top 5 QBs, squash the achievements and tools of a talented rookie QB class BUT WILL DEFEND THE LITERAL WORST QB IN THE LEAGUE

Truly amazing stuff

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's literal stockholm syndrome, lol. These fans have become so indoctrinated with bad QB play, that they couldn't stand the sight of a top and elite QB in here like a Watson, Wilson, etc.

Wonder which personnel decisions Wilson is upset about?

Wilson is delusional.  Top 5 of all time?  No.  and holding him back?  The team caved into his wants offense wise last year and let him chuck it all over the field.

If Seattle trades away Wilson, then JD better not trade that Seattle 2022 1st round pick.  It has an outstanding chance of being a top 5 pick.

Absolutely correct!

We can win the Super Bowl AND have the #1 pick. Stay thirsty my friends.....
