The Jaguars will beat this Seattle team.

I think so too. The jags haven’t looked that bad. They have been fairly competitive so far. The hawks are a train wreck without russ. Hopefully they keep him out the rest of the year. There’s a few more games coming up too that are great for the draft. Lions/eagles and phins/Texans

Hell, they were a bit of a train wreck WITH Russ.  They were headed for 2-3 even before he got hurt.

Definitely, but geno ensures they won’t make a comeback. These past 3 games have come down to geno scoring on the final drive and he choked every time. Russ would have scored once most likely

Ironic that Houston who was supposed to be good handed Miami their pick and tanked horribly so Miami had the 3rd pick in the draft.

Now Miami who was supposed to be good has handed philly their pick which is sitting at #2

And my monthly reminder, Philly would not be sitting there right now with this glory of high picks if they had beat washignton in the last game last year in which ALL the talking heads just killed Pederson for pulling hurts.  Pederson was just flayed alive for not trying harder to win that game in a totally lost season.  If philly did win that meaningless game they would have picked 10th, not 6th and thus would not have been in in the miami deal and would not currently own the #2 pick.

How many times have the jets totally screwed their draft by winning the last game in a totally lost season?  Gholston instead of matt ryan, missed out on bosa

Yeah, but you can't expect a team to actually throw a game like the Eagles basically did.

And chances are, if Miami stayed at 3, they would have taken Kyle Pitts.  Thankfully we will not have to face him twice a year.  As it is, we won't see him again until 2025.  Thank you, Doug Pederson.

If Wilson was playing, Seattle would have won by at least two scores.

At least. Wilson with Metcalf is a near unstoppable combo. Metcalf with Geno is a 80 yard plus TD, then he gets ignored majority of rest of game because Geno isn’t allowed to throw into double coverage. For good reason:

Gonna be so amazing when Russell Wilson, Bobby Wagner, and Pete Carroll leave Seattle after this season and it’s just Jamal in the middle of a full rebuild with no draft picks.

Pete will mend fences with USC and come back as the savior. Do Wilson and Wagner have any eligibility left??

Also, Geno's pocket presence is still no better than it was in 2013 - 14.  He has not learned to step up in the pocket, still backpedaling into sacks, and he holds the ball too long.  He was a perfect example last night that sometimes sacks are not on the OL, but on the QB.

C'mon make it hurt. 1980, beat Miami on last day, and drop from 2 to 3, and hand LT to the Giants. LT behind the Sack Exchange would have been legendary.

That is another reason I am always in favor of trading back to get a future 1st.   The pick could wind up being a premium 1.

Geno Smith's pocket presence is still that of a 12 year old on his very first day of playing Madden; if I keep backing up, they cannot tackle me, 4th and 28 be damned. I'm throwing a 67 yard pass that gains 10 yards.

And yet Geno > Fields and Wilson

Yep.  There's a reason sacks are a QB stat and why so many great/good QB's have a tendency to avoid getting sacked.  Even statues like Manning, Brees, Rivers or Stafford.  On nearly any play in the NFL, the QB has an enormous part to play in whether he gets sacked or not.  Sure, some plays get blown up right away.  But often, good QB's can prevent or limit those with strong pre-snap decisions.

Our former QB's in recent years all lacked that ability.  Yet people always want to blame the Offensive Line first.  It's really not how the game works.  Much of the time, its not the OL's fault.

I mean those are rookies and this is Geno's 9th year in the league.  So you would hope Geno would be better than those 2 at this stage in their careers.

Even then, its a pretty slim margin.

Geno in his rookie year went 8-8

You gonna use CMC as an excuse for that too?

They didn't, they were a worse team than Washington they were not winning at the time and jalen hurts is as likely to blow it as he is to play hero ball.

That team was outscored by 97 points on the year.  6th worst point differential in the NFL that season.

Probably one of the most non-competitive 8-8 teams in NFL history.

The jets were destroyed in all their losses that year, they won 2 games on the last play when the other team handed them the game.  If thee was ever a case of you are not what your record says you are it was that year.  The net results was the jets giving rex two more years of dismal efforts.

So you’d prefer 1-16 with Zach Wilson over 8-8 with Geno?
