There were 13 D Linemen taken in the year the lazy bastid came out.

His results were near the bottom of those selected and his effort is even worse

What the **** are you talking about?  That link ranks him 21st overall.  I'm pretty sure more than 8 of those guys weren't drafted in 2019.  I am also sure that more than 13 interior D linemen were taken in 2019, let alone D linemen.  I guess I usually don't post in your threads because nobody seems surprised.

this is how the character assassination of Quinnen Williams starts

he's a bum, he's always injured, JD didn't draft him, blah blah blah

meanwhile he's one of the only impact defenders they have and between him and his brother, they are the heart of the locker room

I can't wait to see how the jets screw QW

probably a franchise tag at least

It's amazing what you can learn when you can read.

21. QUINNEN WILLIAMS, NEW YORK JETS

Williams looked like a breakout candidate entering the 2021 season. He had improved his overall PFF grade from 67.4 as a rookie in 2019 to 81.4 in 2020, and last season was primed to be the year that the former No. 3 overall pick lept into the elite tier at the position.

Instead, Williams took a step back with a performance more reminiscent of his rookie season, struggling to progress in Robert Saleh’s first year as head coach. The talent didn’t go anywhere, though. It’s reasonable to expect a bounceback season from Williams in 2022.

Here are the D lineman drafted in 2019 better than Williams drafted with the third

pick in the round- Bosa, Allen, Oliver, Gary, Wilkins, Burns, Lawrence, Simmons,

Sweat.  I rank Williams play with Ferrell, Tillery and Collier. Not one D lineman

taken in '19 chases the run or goes after the passer with less effort.   On

the Jets even Shepherd, Phillips, Rankins, Foley, Marshall, Huff, Ward,

the guy Saleh loved who came from Oregon, Tanzel Smart showed

more what Robert Saleh called All Gas, no breaks

Nobody batted an eye when he said he and Weeb Ewbank cured muscular dystrophy in 1972 either. I think it's somebody's dad with dementia.

I said Weeb's involvement with the Myasthenia Gravis foundation, which

happened after I asked him if he had the disease and my father's friend,

 Zuly recruited him

somehow i think douglas and saleh have a better handle on what qwill means to the jets as opposed to pff.  like others have said, douglas most likely would have actively shopped qwill if he wasn't worth anything.  on the other hand douglas said he would answer the phone if someone asked.

Based on pro-football-reference.com's DrAV metric (Approximate Value for team that drafted said player), 9 DL/EDGE from that draft class rank ahead of Quinnen:

  2. DE Nick Bosa (pick 1.2 - SF)
  3. DT Jeffrey Simmons (pick 1.19 - TEN)
  4. DT Ed Oliver (pick 1.9 - BUF)
  5. DT Christian Wilkins (pick 1.13 - MIA)
  6. DE Brian Burns (pick 1.16 - CAR)
  7. DT Dexter Lawrence (pick 1.17 - NYG)
  8. DE Montez Sweat (pick 1.26 - WAS)
  9. EDGE Andrew Van Ginkel (pick 5.151 - MIA)
  10. DT Quinnen Williams (pick 1.3 - NYJ)
  11. EDGE Josh Allen (pick 1.7 - JAX)
  12. DT Jerry Tillery (pick 1.28 - LAC)

At least @New York Mick can rest easy knowing he was right to doubt Josh Allen (the Jaguars' version).

Bro, stfu. You’re a never ending hemorrhage.

Also, no one is overrating Quinnen. He’s generally acknowledged as a decent to good DT who has not lived up to his number three overall billing.

Bro, drafted that high should result in being a game changer NOT a ‘decent to good DT’.  B U S T bust bust bust. He’s serviceable, at best. No way JD is breaking the bank to keep him. See Leo wave bye bye. See QW wave bye bye. See Some stupid team, like the Giants, will overpay him as they did with Leo.
