  • Adams was an All-Pro on the Jets.  He should not have been the 6th pick in the draft.  In this last draft, maybe the Jets take Adams at 15.  They milk him for 4-5 years.  He helps the Jets defense and Rodgers..  Then you let him go.
  • Adams is an example of why a GM should not trade multiple 1st+ round picks for any particular player, and why you should not pay any particular player too much money.   It backfires as often as it works.
  • It almost never works with defensive players.  It works most often with OL and QBs.
  • If I was an NFL GM, I am accumulating as many draft picks as I can, and creating competition, coaching and developing players well, and building a pipeline of new players.  Let other teams pay expensive second and third contracts, except for players who eat, drink and sleep football.  A good GM could tell who those players are.
  • Sauce, GW, Breece may be the type of players you pay.  Becton is not.  Quinnen is a tossup.

it's not a good precedent to just let disgruntled players tweet their way out of town

Adams went public that Gase was a fool (which everyone knew) and JD folded like a house of cards

Folded?  For two 1st round picks and a 3rd?  That's what folding looks like to you?

I'm fine with getting two ones for a box safety, so in this case is was the best thing that could have happened.

Sure JD got alot of draft compensation

but from 33 perspective, JD gave this player exactly what he wanted

Jamal got everything he wished for

and also the SEA beat the NYJ heads up at least 2x in that time, not just beat them but blew them out 40-3 when Jamal played and 23-6 when he didn't

Jamal wanted to be paid he wanted to play for a winner and he got both of those things just by tweeting

He did us a ******* favor. We were never going to pay him what he wanted, tweet or no tweet. And the only reason he ended up on a winning team is because Seattle was the only team stupid enough to trade what they did for him. Adams has done nothing to help that team win unless you want to count footballs bouncing off his facemask. I guarantee you that if Seattle could have a do over they would not make that trade again and the Jets would make it again and again and again.

Adams trade might be the best trade in Jets history. Not only has Adams sucked and been hurt for the Seahawks, but we got two first round picks that turned into two elite offensive players.

When your team has a cancer that wants to be traded and you get a historical return in value, I cannot see any negative coming from this. But I am sure people will find something.

He wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy.  And, I imagine, not to be injured as often as he is.  And also be a Pro Bowler rather than a laughingstock at the position on a team that plays better when he's not in the lineup.

But sure.  He duped a franchise into giving him a nice contract.  Cool!

LOL he got a pair of 1st rd picks.  One of the most unbelievable hauls ever by anyone, anytime in the Jets organization for a mediocre player.   Yet you dismiss it.  You, sir, are biased to point of absurdity.  The Darnold haul was pretty good too.  JD is fine in trades.  If only he could evaluate QBs.  The missing link.  Hope Rodgers can keep it going for the next couple of years. At that point they'll probably bring in another vet unless some miracle is bestowed upon Zach Wilson.

The biggest phony in the NFL. One of the most overrated players in the league. He barely sees the field and when he does see the field, he needs a GPS because he never knows where he’s going.

We should get on our knees for Greg Williams because he made him look much better than he is.

Why are Jets fans invested in seeing Darnold succeed but Adams fail?

That's easy. Who would you rather see succeed? A humble guy who doesn't complain, or a egotistical loudmouth, who thinks he's God's gift to football?

We got more for Adams than we gave up for AR
