To my knowledge, no official request was ever made by the 49ers to interview Ulbrich so nothing was ever denied by the Jets. Ulbrich is a very good coach/coordinator. It's pretty common for teams to not want to lose good staff members to lateral positions on other teams. Who wouldn't want to be the coordinator of one of the best defenses in the league, stacked with talent, on a team that regularly makes Superbowl and playoff appearances? I understand that many people around here want to be negative toward anything Jets related. And much of it is warranted. But the misinformation doesn't benefit anyone on this board.
