Exactly.  Not that hard to see.

If those two were playing and you added Floyd all he would do is take receptions away from them.  Anyway you slice it Brady would get his numbers.

 If theyre undermanned its a different story

They run incredibly intricate routes that require precise route runners and guys who have solid chemistry with the QB.  Ochocinco, one of the best route runners I have ever watched on film, said that NE's play book is one of the hardest he's ever studied.  Floyd will likely have little to no impact on a playoff push or anything this year for that matter.

To be completely honest, the Pats were probably planning on targeting him in the offseason as a FA and want to get a close look at him as a player and a teammate.

I suspect he's a depth signing, insurance for if Mitchell hits the rookie wall or if there's another injury to Edelman or Hogan, in which case they'd have a big problem.  

Makes sense for a playoff team with injury problems, it wouldn't make sense for the Jets

What kind of logic is this?  New England and the Jets are in different galaxies.  New England is the Sun of theirs.  The Jets are some obscure moon of the irrelevant planet in theirs.

The obscure moon has no affect on the Sun in a different galaxy.

Because?

You do that when youre competing with a team and they need a player at a position so you box them out.  We're not competing with anyone, are in no position to weaken our team to weaken the team thats winning the division with or without our help.

Better yet, remember how bringing Randy Moss onto the team was going to create an unbeatable team of the century?  Brady broke all QB records and the Pats for all their explosiveness on offense never won a SB with their best offensive unit

You are 100% correct, and the only thing I will add the Cheaters are probably looking at M Floyd signing as potential compensation draft pick down the road.( he is Patriot free agent and if he signs somewhere else Cheaters could get a draft pick for basically cash.

or the times they picked up Rodney Harrison, Corey Dillon, Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner and won SBs with them....

Whether Floyd pans out for them or not it's a smart move for them to pick him up. I could be wrong, but with Floyd due to become a UFA in March:

1. They get a zero-commitment, low-cost, month-plus tryout with him. If he's good, then they have first dibs on locking up a WR with obvious talent.

2. They don't re-sign him in March. Someone else takes a flyer on him, and NE is in line for a comp draft pick in 2018 for "losing" their UFA Floyd in 2017.

Why not; there is no question about his talent.  If he has his head on straight it will be another coup for Belicheck.    FWIW, I think we may have hit paydirt with ASJ who was also coming off a DUI and is starting to look like a real find.
