Not to ruin your day, but Sanchez did the same thing to an equally horrible Penn State defense and it propelled him to the 5th pick. The good news for Sanchez was it was his last game at USC, where Darnold had an entire year to raise quite a few red flags.

You are essentially agreeing with me.

Don't bother the Adams bashers have an agenda , its not worth trying to prove them wrong over and over again .

I can't believe that Adams isn't a pro bowler in his 1st year on a team with a bottom 3 pass rush! What the hell? And giving up TDs & receptions to loser TEs like Gronk, Kelce & Gates? WTF! What the hell have any of those TEs accomplished in this league?

The McCown signing is going to end up being the worst thing to happen to the jets since passing on Marino in ‘83

Has nothing to do with the Jets drafting a young QB. Might very well keep them from playing him but Im pretty sure we will sign McCown and draft a young QB. Kinda have too, no?

Oh yea let’s go 0-16. That would of done wonders for this franchise and players like Anderson and McGuire! You are a smart one Carl!

So every single young player in Cleveland showed no growth or personal development in their soon to be 0-16 year? No? Really? You’re clueless. And the fact you use McGuire to try to prove your point just emphatically shows you’re out of your depth here.

How about plays where he makes the Qb look elsewhere? How about the QB pressures? how about the tackles at the line of scrimmage? Turnovers are great but it doesn’t take away from all the good things he has showed us. His upside is great.

sorry those dont show up on fantasy stats so they dont matter

Eh. I'm super psyched the Giants finally have a good shot at a franchise QB. Been a while since they've had one. As Jets fans, we've been very fortunate at that position over the years. Not too worried. Future looks bright. We're stacked at safety and will have a shot at a real good DT in this draft.

If you think about it, the Giants, outside of Manning, never really had an elite QB.

Phil Simms was overshadowed by a great defense led by LT. Even Jeff Hostetler won a SUper Bowl with that defense.  WHo else?

Kerry Collins and Fran Tarkenton were meh. Probably have to go back to YA Tittle

Fran Tarkenton is one of the best quarterbacks in the history of football and belongs nowhere near Kerry Collins, let alone in the same sentence.

Yes he was with the Vikings. With the Giants, its another story.

Also learned, not that it means much given the rings, that since the Jets came into existence as the Titans, the Giants have had more losing seasons than the Jets. That surprised me

What about Fasano and Njoku?

You mean when Njoku made a spectacular one handed catch?  And Adams wasnt the one in coverage?  That too many who whined just keep proving how little football they either know or watch?  You know, like you/

Phil Simms was very underrated and is head and shoulders above any qb we have had since Namath

Adams was in coverage on Njoku and on that 36 year old blocking tight end Fasano and that was before a 40 year old Antonio Gates went nuts on him

No he wasn't.  You and the rest of the blind whiners actually believe your own trolling.

You are the most clueless so called fan ever.

Spotty game from Darnold, although some of the over-reactions over his level of performance (not so much on here) against a superior opponent have been way over the top. Not sure we learnt anything particularly new last night. His turnover rate is an obvious concern. He has issues fumbling the football (hand size?), holds on to the football too long, and needs to rein in some of his gun-slinger tendencies. He still made a lot of high calibre throws last night, and flashes elite potential.

In terms of the draft, if you focusing on college production there are other QBs you would take before him. If you focus on future potential, you still take Darnold, or Rosen. Their ceiling is higher than everyone else. Whether the New York Jets are the team to unearth that potential is extremely questionable, given our history of developing QBs. From a Jet perspective, we may be wiser taking a lower ceiling, higher floor kind of QB in Mayfield.

I don't see a new GM taking a QB with the 1st pick... I see them going O-line or trading down.

New regimes almost always mean new QB's.  I would be very surprised if they don't take a QB.  But if they don't, taking O-Line at # 2 would be a terrible decision.  Trade down, get 2-3 first rounders, THEN take O-Line.

Yea but Maye was better

Yea, but when the pick was made 99% of the board (inclusing me) didn't like the Maye pick .

This is a good problem to have. Maye had a better year, yet Adams is 1 of only 2 safeties to register 80+ tackles and 7+ TFL's. Lets not act like Adams is the safety version of Gholston. Adams had a solid rookie season.

We used the 6th pick overall to get a slightly better Eric Smith.  Yay
